**Role Summary**
As a Consultant, Data Science at Project X Ltd., you will be providing our clients with your knowledge and experience of making sense of messy, unstructured data. Using your computer science, statistics and mathematics expertise, you will analyze, process and model data, then interpret the results to create actionable data driven solutions for our clients.
**Major Areas of Responsibility**
- Participate in the requirements gathering, analysis, project plans, and solutions design.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions.
- Feature engineering, selection and optimization models with ML techniques.
- Improve data collection procedures and pipelines. Perform data profiling and exploration to ensure the integrity of data.
- Productionalize data models with feedback loop to automate the refinement process for deployed models over time.
- Participate in the development of project plans to establish appropriate workload expectations and schedules.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of, and adopt relevant market trends and practices.
**Required knowledge, skills, and abilities**
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience as a Data Scientist and building ML models.
- Solid Python and SQL development skills.
- Experience with ML/Data Science modules in Python: NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-Learn and various notebook environments e.g. Jupyter, Colab).
- Hands-on experience with different AI/ML frameworks such as Keras, Pytorch, TensorFlow, SparkML.
- Knowledge of NLP frameworks/libraries, e.g., Gensim, SpaCy, etc.
- Experience with cloud and on-premises technology from infrastructure through the technology stack like AWS, GCP or Azure.
- Mathematical understanding of some ML algorithms: regression, SVM, decision trees etc.
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business Intelligence, Data Science, or related field.
- Critical thinking capabilities and a consultative mindset.
**Nice to have**
- Experience with testing automation is an asset.
