**Job Summary**
Under the guidance of the People Experience Manager, Pay & Benefits, the Payroll Administrator will assist with the preparation of the bi-weekly payroll including: setting up, validating and recording related payroll information and timesheets, calculation and preparation of payroll adjustments, verifying computer generated reports, maintaining files and records and compiling related reports.
**What you'll be doing**:
- Completing set-up of new hires in HRIS, including review of paperwork for accuracy and input/set-up.
- Integrating team members into timekeeping system, setting-up applicable fields and attaching to appropriate profile groups
- Preparing necessary input for processing of bi-weekly pay; perform changes to team member information as required.
- Researching missed time requests and performing adjustments as required.
- Verifying accuracy of bi-weekly timecards and recording issues to be addressed.
- Assisting leaders with the HRIS and timekeeping systems as required.
- Importing team member timesheet hours for pi-weekly payroll processing.
- Performing self-audits and payroll administrator audits of payroll and payroll reports for accuracy and rectifying any errors prior to payroll submission.
- Generating Record of Employments (ROE) bi-weekly or as needed for various leave requests.
- Maintaining up-to-date audit records by pay period, including, but not limited to, hours worked, attendance, overtime, deductions and benefits for all personnel.
- Generating all required payroll reports bi-weekly/monthly for inclusion in the pay period audit file.
- Ensuring timely and accurate year end payroll processing by entering all amendments, adjustments and manual payments as required.
- Reviewing paperwork received from all departments and sites for accuracy and completeness as it relates to payroll processing, government regulations and compliance with Goodwill’s policies.
- Assisting with orienting and training new personnel, including Store Managers, on timekeeping system and any other payroll related programs.
- Responding in a timely fashion to all internal or external inquires related to payroll or refer them to the appropriate internal/external department.
- Communicating any payroll related updates to the necessary departments and organizational personnel.
- Maintaining confidentially around all payroll and team member related processes including payroll and personnel requests and all files.
- Developing and distributing reports required for payroll using the reporting tool or other software such as Excel, as required.
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of legislation governing income tax, health care, employment insurance, WCB, minimum wage, hours of work, etc.
- Assisting with benefit administration as needed.
- Performing additional duties as requested.
**What you bring to the table**:
- Minimum high school diploma and minimum 1 year in a specialized payroll course preferred
- 2-3 years experience in a payroll processing and/or administrative role.
- Experience with payroll systems preferably Kronos, UKG preferred
- Experience with Service Canada online Record of Employment system (ROE Web).
- Must pass a Criminal Record Check.
- Must be eligible to work in Canada.
- Strong English communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Dependability and reliability required, as well as the ability to work alone or unsupervised.
- Possess accurate processing skills and extreme attention to detail.
- Ability to deal with others effectively and efficiently both verbally and in writing.
- Proven ability to maintain confidentiality of information and records.
- Demonstrated sound judgment and decision-making abilities as well as proactive problem resolution skills.
