Position
Production Planner
Role Purpose
The role is responsible for executing the strategic goals for planning and scheduling for 1 production facility. This team member maintains the master production schedule and ensures a highly efficient plant operation through planning. This will include building upon the functional inputs against the forecast and live sales orders, and preparing necessary reports for inputs and outputs to production. This role is the main liaison between multiple departments within the organization

**Responsibilities**:
**Production planning & scheduling**
- Ensures that master production schedule is created and maintained to optimize production to meet delivery schedules, forecasted customer demand for achieving >98% order fill rates
- Create and maintain master scheduling KPIs and dashboards to support, track and improve production performance
- Provide strategic inputs to maintain capacity vs load forecast and priority dispatch of orders
- Actively participate in daily production status meetings to provide schedule updates/concerns
- Continuously track production schedule discrepancies or capacity issues on a daily basis and develop, maintain and enhance KPIs, reporting as requested by Sr. management
- Provide counsel for production, and supply chain staff to follow the planned quantities and help with prioritizing production runs
- Assess priorities from top management to define firm production plan strategies for short & term period and rolling plans for long term
**Forecasting**
- Analyze historical production data and leverage the live sales forecasts/ market trends to create accurate production forecasts
- Adjust schedules as needed to accommodate demand changes / unforeseen circumstances
**Collaboration**
- Work very closely with the operations team to ensure staffing levels, equipment and resources are aligned with the planned production schedules
- Coordinate with procurement, production managers/supervisors, logistics/ CSRs and sales to effectively communicate & remain on top of live changes in production run schedules
- Proactive approach to solving fulfillment challenges (schedule discrepancies/analyzing capacity, load balancing) along with the team for quick resolutions
- Provide necessary support to train back up schedulers and supervisors
**Continuous Improvement**
- Access & generate measurement and assessment tools enabling scheduling improvements
- Bring forth and engage in projects related to process improvements and implementations of new systems to enhance production scheduling efficiency
**Quality Assurance**
- Collaborate with the QA team to maintain, comply with and improve quality standards
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Minimum **2 year of scheduling experience** in a fast paced manufacturing environment
- Post Secondary education in Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics or Business related field
- Strong ability to work within **ERP systems**
- Experience with Business Central - an asset
- Experience with PowerBI - an asset
- Expert skill set in Excel and experience with Google G Suite
- Experience/exposure to scheduling software tools (developing/as a user) is an asset
- Must be able to work as a team player and maintain a positive attitudes
- A self-starter with outstanding organizational and management skills and ability to work independently while managing & prioritizing tasks in a dynamic manufacturing environment
