The Information Officer's primiary function is to monitor in the exhibition galleries: greeting visitors, provding information to visitors, ensuring visitors are respectful of oebjects on display, assisting education staff with the provision of tours, guarding works from theft, damage, removal or interfernece, and others as per the attached JD.

**Posting Details**

Responsible for performance measurement, system-wide software management and training, and to act as a data and technical liaison with Statistics Canada for the Network. The position requires a thorough knowledge of Research Network performance frameworks and key performance indicators and expertise in a range of statistical software required by Network researchers to

conduct analysis of census, survey and administrative data files. In collaboration with Statistics Canada personnel, the Information Officer is also responsible to solve issues that impact the efficiency and effectiveness of Network operations

**Responsibilities**:

- Oversee the Network's performance measurement, software management and training.
- Administer a national annual researcher survey which provides primary data for Network performance assessment.
- Act as a liaison between the Network and Statistics Canada concerning data and network security, statistical software issues, computer system and software updates and opportunities for technical upgrades.
- Maintain bibliographic database and fulfill requests for information both to the Network and on demand with the Network partners.
- Analyze the researcher survey and bibliography to provide summary and informational documents to Research Data Centres for use in their reports.
- Collect, analyze, assess, and summarize information relevant to the decision making process and develop recommendations for final approval and implementation.
- Writes a variety of documents including, but not limited to, reports, correspondence, procedure documents, technical communiques and training manuals.
- Provide input and advice to Network partners to achieve departmental and Network goals.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures of the University, Network and external research agencies.
- Develop and deliver training programs and workshops to Network partners and staff.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to Network partners regarding security, software, system and process issues.
- Monitor licensing compliance for the Network’s statistical software partners, and provide information to fulfill contractual obligations.
- Assist in the negotiation of contracts with software partners.
- Maintain and monitor a metadata database.
- Exchange technical information with colleagues and external research agencies.
