Position Summary
RMH is seeking a full-time permanent Health, Safety and Wellness Manager, reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer. As a member of the RMH leadership team, the successful applicant will be responsible for ongoing development and delivery of Occupational Health, Safety and Wellness programs including baseline health assessments and health surveillance in accordance with the OHA/OMA Communicable Disease Protocols, annual influenza immunization program, Respiratory Protection program, supporting the Workplace Violence Prevention program and Workplace Ergonomics program, and supporting the claims management program, and overall responsibility for the internal responsibility system as it relates to safety in the workplace and wellness initiatives. This position will lead an enthusiastic team of occupational health, claims management and health and safety professionals.

Essential Qualifications
- Certified Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation preferred or Post-Secondary related Certificate in Workplace Health & Safety combined with a minimum of three years Health and Safety leadership experience (within Healthcare preferred).
- Current JHSC Member Certification or willingness to obtain it
- Current CPR certification
- Current safety certification training
- Knowledge of risk management systems is required showing business acumen and orientation on results
- Knowledge of employee safety systems including inflection control and disaster planning
- Experience developing policies related to Occupational Health, Safety and Wellness
- Experience in organizing healthy workplace programs and work life balance initiatives
- Excellent knowledge of the OHSA, WHMIS/GHS, Human Rights Code of Ontario
- Knowledge of disability/ability/ return to work management principles and practice
- Commitment to excellent customer service when dealing with colleagues, volunteers and other members of the community and public
- Ability to impact and influence the H&S culture, considering organizational awareness
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
- Ongoing commitment to education and development for personal growth
- Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning and education principles and good presentation skills
- Excellent change management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Must be able to fulfill physical requirements of the job, as per the current Physical Demands Analysis

Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN) and/or experience as an Occupational Health Nurse would be an asset but is not essential.
- Current registration with the College of Nurses Ontario would be an asset.

Hours of Work
Must be available for 37.5 hours per week.
