**What can I expect to do in this role?**
- Facilitate the delivery of psychoeducational and prevention programming to children and youth in a variety of settings, including elementary and high schools
- Learn and implement established program course materials, as well as update existing program materials as required
- Create a safe and comfortable learning environment for children and youth to engage in program materials
- Collaborate with various community stakeholders (i.e., schools) to coordinate and schedule the delivery of prevention programming
- Complete intakes with clients who are interested in group programming, which may include parents/caregivers, children and youth
- Develop and provide intervention programming on an individual and group counselling level and recreational programming activities with children and youth
- Identify, coordinate and prepare materials, space and staff required to facilitate the facilitation of programming
- Deliver, compile, and maintain post program related evaluation tools and data
- Maintain appropriate and accurate program schedule documentation
- Collaborate and advocate with referral sources and other community response systems including children’s mental health, counselling services, and school-based resources
- Utilize knowledge of community resources, concerns or trends in the community as it pertains to youth and share with agency staff
- Maintain positive relationships and interact with various community partners
- Travel within Northumberland County is required

**What do I need for this role?**
- Relevant degree/diploma in social work, child & youth, and/or education, or a combination of education and experience
- Group facilitation experience with children and youth, with an understanding and commitment to engaging children and youth
- Knowledge of identity and stages of development in children and youth
- Ability to speak about controversial and sensitive issues with respect and compassion
- Experience or willingness to learn the principles of effective facilitation and sequencing of teaching materials, techniques and practices, relevant to children and youth
- Ability to facilitate effectively both in person and/or in a virtual setting including operating various online platforms, and utilize technology to deliver program content
- Valid drivers license with a clean driver’s abstract and $1 million liability insurance and permanent use of a reliable vehicle
- Ability to work in different environments
- Demonstrated ability to form meaningful relationships with children and youth
- Resourcefulness and flexibility to meet the needs of clients/families within the service
- Familiarity with appropriate community resources and ability to build relationships within the community
- Commitment to organizational values: leadership, integrity, inclusion, collaboration, and innovation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Effective conflict resolution, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Demonstration of empathy and compassion
