The Stewardship and Communications Strategist plays a key role in developing, executing, and overseeing a strategic, comprehensive, and customized donor stewardship program. The Stewardship and Communications Strategist is critical to the success of advancing the Philanthropy team’s efforts to cultivate meaningful partnerships with donors, which provides financial revenue to the University of Regina, and bolsters the profile of the University locally, nationally, and internationally.

Position Requirements
**What You’ll Bring to this Position**:
- Undergraduate degree in Communications, Media Studies, Journalism, English, or other related Faculty of Arts degree
- Minimum of 5 years experience in donor relations, stewardship, fundraising, or related field.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
**Skills That Will Ensure Your Success in the Role**:
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing comprehensive stewardship and donor recognition programs.
- In-depth understanding of the donor cycle and its principles, essential for moving qualified major-gift prospects through the donor cycle.
- Familiarity with metrics and evaluation systems to measure the success of stewardship initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of communications and implementation strategies, including familiarity with news media, communications methods, techniques and practices, research and interviewing techniques, and grammar, punctuation and spelling to research and write issues reports and analyses.
- Proficiency in Canadian Press style, essential for writing and editing for Canadian journalists, publishing, and communication professionals.
- Demonstrated excellent communication skills with the ability to craft compelling articles and other written materials that effectively convey key messages and engage diverse audiences.
- Strong customer service orientation and interpersonal skills with demonstrated success working with external stakeholders and partners.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask, while maintaining strong attention to detail.
- Sound judgement, tact and diplomacy especially with sensitive and confidential information.
- Experience managing and mentoring students or volunteers, with the ability to delegate tasks effectively and foster a collaborative environment.
- Ability to work independently both remotely and on-site, demonstrating initiative and self-motivation.
- Demonstrated strong decision-making skills, with a willingness to proactively seek out answers and discern when to involve others.
Physical Demands Pay Grade APT 4 Salary Range $64,796 - $87,436 Status Permanent Work Hours
Monday - Friday, 8:15 am - 4:30 pm
Occasional work outside of normal business hours for events, receptions or projects.
