The Payroll and Benefits Coordinator is responsible for processing and completing full-cycle payroll for all of the organization’s employees using Payworks Software. Through coordination with HR/Executive Director, this role will handle all aspects of the payroll function and ensure all employees are paid accurately according to their employment agreements. The Payroll and Benefits Coordinator assists and advises management and staff concerning any payroll related issues.

**Responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:
**Payroll Duties**
- Accurate updating of staff payroll records with respect to on-boarding and off-boarding
- Reconciles, prepares and processes bi-weekly payroll for all hourly and salaried employees in collaboration with Payworks
- Manages and keeps accurate records on group benefit payments for active employees and employees on paid or unpaid leave, including Long Term Disability and Maternity/Parental Leave and any other leave
- Records and processes changes affecting employee wages, including taxable benefits, income tax, EI, RRSP contributions, charitable donations and other relevant payroll deductions; and updates master payroll records
- Receives, tracks and processes attendance for all employees; processes entitlements, year-end accruals and annual carry over
- Maintains and tracks ongoing sick leave accrual for all staff
- Manage and resolve issues relating to payroll processes
- Develop improvements to payroll policies and procedures

**Benefits Duties**
- Accurate updating of staff benefits records with respect to on-boarding and off-boarding
- Fully administer BGCCVI group benefits plan, including communication, daily benefits processing, enrollments, terminations, changes, claims, documentation, and administrative procedures in collaboration with BGCCVI benefits provider.

**Qualifications**:

- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) or Certified Payroll Management (CPM) qualification is an asset
- Payroll courses with The Canadian Payroll Association Certificate
- A combination of other qualifications along with relevant work experience will be considered

**Experience**:

- Minimum one (1) year of experience in a payroll processing position. Knowledge of Payworks is an asset

Wage: $23-$25 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications

Location: Remote

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 10 per week

**Salary**: $23.00-$25.00 per hour
