**Responsibilities**:
The RISQ Division's mission is to contribute to the sustainable and predictable growth of the SG Group by overseeing and independently challenging the objectives and strategies of the Business Lines. RISQ’s mission is to independently analyze, challenge, opine and monitor on the risk-taking activities, including those associated with new products, of the Business Lines to achieve the best possible outcome for the Bank. The RISQ division in the US supports all the activities in the Americas Region (US, Canada and Latin America), which is almost exclusively SGCIB-oriented.
- Within the RISQ Division, the Enterprise Risk Management department has the following remit, across all risk types to which SG’s Americas operations (SG AMER) are exposed:
- Coordinate the RISQ departments detailed and documented assessment of New and Living Products which SG AMER is exposed to, and oversee ongoing development of the New Product Policy;
- Coordinate risk analysis reporting to risk committees, including SG’s Enterprise Risk Committee, Executive Committee’s Risk Committee and SG’s Board of Directors U.S. Risk Committee;
- Establish and monitor adherence to Risk Appetite Statements for SG AMER and its business lines;
- Coordinate and enhance SG AMER’s risk identification and assessment framework and conduct periodic risk identification and assessment campaigns;
- Coordinate and enhance SG AMER’s stress testing framework and conduct periodic stress testing exercises;
- Oversee SG AMER’s Strategic Risk management and Environmental & Social Risk management, in a second line of defense role;
- Coordinate the Permanent Control framework in SG AMER;
- Organize and monitor SG AMER’s risk management framework, risk committees, roles and responsibilities for all lines of defense;
- Oversee SG AMER’s policies and procedures and Issue Management framework;
- Contribute to the development and usage of a “Governance, Risk and Compliance” (GRC) information system architecture across SG AMER.

The risk professional sought for this position will be a member of the Regional Risk Assessment (RRA) team being part of the SG US Enterprise Risk Management Team and reporting to the VP of Risk Management Regional Risk Assessment (located in Montreal). In its capacity related to Regional Risk Assessment, this team is primarily responsible for supporting and ensuring that all types of risks (e.g., credit, market, liquidity, operational, compliance, strategic, reputational, etc.) are captured and aggregated consistently and comprehensively across all risk stripes and for all SGUS Lines of Business and Support Functions. This process is essential to ensure a thorough understanding of risks inherent to Société Générale’s businesses and key in ensuring consistency between the business strategy, risk profile and risk appetite.

Day to day responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Liaise with and support businesses and risk officers on risk identification and assessment tasks;
- Assist in tracking the execution of risk identification and assessment campaigns : identify, track and escalate issues;
- Assist the team in providing effective challenge on risk assessment results;
- Contribute to aggregation of risks and preparation of presentations to senior management;
- Support the 1LOD and 2LOD in the identification, development and establishment of metrics used in assessing risks across the Materiality, Business Environment, Risk Profile and Risk Management Effectiveness dimensions;
- Assist in developing links with related processes, such as stress testing, Risk Appetite Statement (RAS), strategic planning;
- Assist in maintenance and enhancement of supporting documentation (policies, procedures, methodologies, training materials, etc.);
- Assist in the development and enhancement of the GRC platform, as it relates to risk identification and assessment;
- Support transversal topics such as Regulatory Exams, change-the-bank activities, systems design and presentations of SGUS risk profile to Senior Management both in the US and at Head Office level.

**Profile required**:
Technical Skills and Qualifications
- Graduate from Actuarial Mathematics/Science, University, Master’s degree in Finance, Engineering school or Business School
- Previous experience in Risk Management (credit, operational, market, liquidity, etc.), Financial Modeling, Financial Control Systems or Operations in Capital Markets would be a plus
- Fluent in English.
- Proficient with MS Office
