Job description

A fantastic opportunity for a Process Operator to join our client, an industry leader in quality production and processes as our client requires full-time Process Operators in a contract role for their upcoming fall turnaround.

The role of the **Process Operator (contractor)** will fulfill responsibilities which may include 2 operations functions. The determination of which functions will be supported will be based on business need, incumbent experience, and qualifications. The operational functions may include:

**Process Operator**

Based on incumbent experience and qualification there will be opportunity to signoff and assume responsibility in an operating post in the Refinery to operate the unit in a run and maintain function to support the production unit (PU).
- The Process Operator will ensure safe and efficient operation of the process unit in their designated area, through the delivery of Ensure Safe Production (ESP) fundamentals and all the companies Scotford Safe Work Practices.
- Support maintenance activities which includes equipment prep, field walk downs, permitting, commissioning and startup.
- Responsible to participate in operation meetings and support shift logging as defined in ESP.

**Turnaround Process Operator**
- If applicable there will be opportunity to support the Refinery TA operations staffing for a designated area for the activities of unit shutdown, isolation, equipment prep, decon, maintenance permitting, gas testing, commissioning, and startup.
- Support TA pre and post work activities including but not limited to set up of field blast resistant modules (BRM's), lock out tag out (LOTO) facilities, and permitting to work (PTW).

**To be successful t**his role requires that you**:

- ** Are legally entitled to work in Canada (i.e., by way of Canadian citizenship, permanent residency, or valid work permit)**:

- ** Have a minimum 4th Class Steam Ticket (with hourse/experience).**:

- ** Having previous successful Turnaround, Maintenance experience from a Petrochemical or similar refinery is required to be successful in this role.**:

- Refinery Production Turnaround Coordinator or Refinery Production Supervisor is desirable.
- Proven communication skills (written and oral in English) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively at the required levels of the organization. Work together with/ align with other engineering disciplines to support members of the team.
- Extra hours may be required based on workload and business need. All accumulated hours outside of the base schedule will be compensated at the contracted rate.
- Must be physically fit and able to climb ladders, stairs, scaffolds, perform pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.
- Are willing to comply with the company's drug-free and harassment-free work environment and comply with all safety policies and procedures.
- Undergo a pre-placement medical assessment of your fitness for duty, a background check and Pre-Site Access testing for alcohol and specified drugs.
