**Salary**: $2,073.50 to $2,549.41 bi-weekly ($54,118 - $66,539/year)

**Role Responsibilities**:
Under the direction of the Team Lead, Information Services, you will be a “front line” representative of Alberta Justice and will provide reliable and current information to Albertans, including self-represented litigants who do not have the assistance of a lawyer.

Your key responsibilities included but not limited to:

- Providing information and documentation regarding family, civil and criminal law matters to clients in person, by telephone or in writing.
- Assisting in Court and preparing court generated orders as directed by the Judiciary.
- Assist client in determining sources and location of general and legal information, such as court processes, program policies and legislation.
- Research, develop and maintains program and service resource materials to facilitate consistent service delivery and training of staff members.
- Determining appropriate referrals for clients accessing the legal system
- Commissioning court documents for clients
- Liaising with clients, court administration and agencies
- Collecting and compiling statistical data and reports.
- Maintain an inventory of informational and instructional materials for clients.
- Train and Mentor new staff members.

Knowledge & abilities to be considered:

- Thorough knowledge of Court & Justice Services programs and services, including assessment service and Dispute Resolution Services and applicable Family, Criminal and Civil provincial and federal statues, and regulations.
- In this role you will work directly with a large and diverse client base and at times situations can become highly emotional. You are adept at de-escalating stressful situations and can remain calm and composed at all times. You use your well-developed active listening skills to understand the client’s needs to provide appropriate solutions.
- You are highly organized and have the ability to multi-task in a number of settings. You have a strong attention to detail and work well under tight timelines which will help you be successful when preparing court generated orders and supporting the Judiciary. You have a passion for providing excellent customer service and have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

**Qualifications**:
**Required**:

- A high school diploma and four years of related experience in legal field/ environment is required.

**Preference will be given to those with the following**:

- Related post-secondary education in the legal field.
- Experience working in the courts and/or other legal environments.
- Knowledge of the Alberta rules of court
- Knowledge of civil, family and landlord court processes and procedures
- Experience preparing court generated orders.
- Conflict resolution experience
- Experience working with vulnerable populations.
- Experience working with the following programs: Microsoft Word and Excel, CASES, JOIN, FTR Digital Recording Software, SharePoint, CRM and 1GX.
- The ability to communicate in French fluently (orally and in writing) is an asset.

**Equivalencies will be considered on the basis of**:

- one year of directly related experience for one year of education or
- one year of education for one year of experience.
