Product & Systems Specialist

QMC Metering Solutions supplies and integrates several meter technologies to effectively monitor the consumption of electricity, water, gas and thermal energy consumption of commercial and residential properties. We have offices in Coquitlam, Calgary, and Toronto and have a support and distribution network across the country including Edmonton and Montreal.
The Product and Systems Specialist for the BC office is an integral member of our team and will directly report to the Field Operations Manager.
**Responsibilities Include**:
**System Design**
- Collect requirements from sales team, engineers, contractors and project documentation to design metering system architecture, that might include MBus risers, communication layouts, networking topologies, single-line diagrams
- Produce project related drawings by means of Computer Aid Design Software, such as Autodesk Autocad, Microsoft Visio, Solid Works, and/or alternatives
- Allocate and arrange metering and communication elements which provide the design solution for costumers’ project requirements
- Design information and explanation installation materials for electrical, HVAC and Controls contractors to follow (Project Documentation)
- Follow manufacturers recommendations, equipment specifications and industry standards in metering system development
- Liaising with clients to identify and define project risk, requirements, scope and objectives when something is not clear after being handled by the sales team.
- Project Authorization: Review project bill of materials and Design Package before hand-off to project team
**Product Specialist - Mechanical systems**
- Liaise with product manufacturers and respective external Product Mangers for:
- Technical product updates
- New product variations
- Technical product training and troubleshooting
- Product deficiencies management, RMAs and corrective actions
- Manage and update internal product support documentation (data sheets, installation instructions, design documentation and other relevant product documentation.
- Develop and distribute technical bulletins for product related updates
**Skills and Experience**
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in commercial electrical or mechanical systems or equivalent education
- Engineering degree is an asset (electrical or mechanical)
- Certified CAPM or PMP designation is an asset
- Familiarity with metering equipment and communication systems
- Experience in an ISO90001:2008 or relevant Quality Assurance environment
- Valid BC Drivers’ License and vehicle
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Ability to identify, plan, organize, prioritize in a timely manner
- Demonstrated ability to work within a dynamic project environment with changing priorities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, must be fluent in English
- Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external clients
- Highly skilled in a Windows Office environment, knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook, Visio a must
- Experience with CRM software an asset
- Excellent CAD skills
