**Position Description**:Counter-Inside Sales
**Reports To**: Branch Supervisor
**Primary Objectives**:
- Be open to continually improving sales skills through self-improvement, training and coaching from Supervisor/Manager
- Establish and maintain excellent customer service through:
Answering calls and servicing customers quickly and accurately,
demonstrating thorough product and pricing knowledge
Coordinating proper products, correct pricing and a confirmed delivery
Handling special orders, requests, issues/concerns with enthusiasm and
efficiency
Creating a friendly and professional atmosphere
Developing and maintaining strong and positive relationships with customers
- Increase Sales through up-selling; contacting customers with specials; giving leads to Outside Sales people
- Demonstrate personal responsibility and accountability daily with regard to attitude, job performance, professionalism and commitment to continuous development
- Support and promote the company’s Core Values of Personal Excellence, Teamwork and Achievement.
**Safety Accountabilities**:
- Use/wear any protective equipment, devices or clothing required by Marks Supply i.e. steel toed shoes or boots, cut resistant gloves, safety glasses, respirators-as applicable to the job
- Report to supervisor the absence of or any defect in any safety device/equipment that you are aware of, which could endanger yourself or others.
- Report immediately to your supervisor: any contraventions of the Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA) or the Company Safety Policies, any accidents or incidents that occur, or the existence of any hazards you are aware of.
- Operate any necessary machinery or equipment safely in accordance with the safety rules and procedures for that equipment.
- Keep up to date on the company Health & Safety Policies, follow the policies and procedures.
- Ensure that all safety standards are met and exceeded as outlined in the OHSA and the Company Safety Manual.

**Other Key Accountabilities**:
- Assist customers, giving excellent service and placing orders accurately in the computer
- Utilize product knowledge to recommend alternatives to customers if their initial request cannot be met; up sell whenever possible
- Research special Non-stock requirements with suppliers or other branches including pricing, lead times, freight costs, minimum buy etc.
- Participate in pager duties and Saturday counter shifts as scheduled
- Assist Outside Sales staff with information regarding customer purchase orders and product or pricing information as needed; working as a team to accomplish department and company objectives
- Organize customer orders for pick up at the counter/Process counter returns
- Maintain daily the Call When Complete queue to ensure on-time delivery of required product. Work with shipping/receiving to ensure product is shipped and received as required
- Communicate with Purchasing to ensure they are up to date with time requirements of orders, and alerting them of large orders that may deplete inventory
- Assist warehouse with order-picking, receiving, shipping or put away as needed
- Assist with customer barbecue days
- Participate in the yearly inventory count
- Ensure that the Counter Zone is replenished daily
- Participate in continuous product training to maintain thorough knowledge of the industry
- Participate in counter promos, preparing showroom for counter days
- Change over monthly specials, including pricing and displays
- Conduct customer polling on various topics as applicable
- Other related duties as assigned
**Requirements**:
- 2-3 years plumbing and/or HVAC experience with demonstrated product knowledge
- Excellent interpersonal skills and commitment to customer service to develop and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with our suppliers and customers
- Excellent organizational skills to effectively prioritize tasks and maintain an abundance of paperwork
- Good working knowledge of all areas of the Eclipse system
- Ability to utilize standard office equipment, including computer, phone, copy machine, fax machine
- Ability to meet strategic goals and objectives with little supervision
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high pressure for results
- Ability to exercise sound judgement, analyze the importance of situations and respond appropriately
