**The Studio**:
Lara MacInnis Design is a collaborative design studio providing comprehensive residential architecture, interior design and construction management services.

We make homes and spaces for living that are personally resonant, visually cohesive and effortlessly functional.

**The Position**:
Lara MacInnis Design is seeking a Design Associate who is creative, thorough and self-motivated to join our team.

You will be involved in various aspects on multiple projects from the initial site review through to the final installation.

**Responsibilities**:

- Developing the project design from schematic design through construction documents and construction administration including sourcing and specification
- Maintaining and updating project documents including drawings, design boards and specifications for internal review, client presentations and trade documentation at each phase
- Site reviews to document work in progress and to meet with trades and contractors
- Preparing weekly construction site reports for clients
- Coordinating with clients, suppliers and LMD staff
- Learning and adhering to LMD studio processes
- Managing sample library including sourcing new suppliers and materials
- Researching and sourcing new materials, systems, appliances, furniture
- Preparing and maintaining digital folders
- Managing project completion/punch lists and warranty issues

**Qualifications**:
**Personal Skills**:

- Strong design and presentation skills as demonstrated with a portfolio
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Meticulous attention to detail, highly organized
- Ability to take direction and interested in expanding skills
- Self-motivated, able to work independently and problem solve
- Adaptable and flexible to changing priorities
- Discretion and understanding of client and office confidentiality

**Computer Skills**:

- High proficiency in AutoCAD
- Proficiency in Sketchup
- Comfortable with Mac operating system, proficiency in Keynote and Pages
- Comfortable with Instagram and social media
- Knowledge of other programs a plus (Revit; Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop; Canva, etc)

**The Location**:
LMD is located in the Dupont Arts Building in downtown Toronto. Local travel to our projects and suppliers is an integral part of the role and a vehicle will be provided when required.

**Education and Experience**
- 2-5 years work experience in architecture, interior design or related design field
- Undergraduate degree
- Driver’s license required

**Note**:
This position is full time with opportunity for a flexible schedule.
