**Sales Manager - 12-Month Maternity Leave Contract**
**This position is a 12-month contractual role to cover maternity leave.**
**Responsibilities**
- Acts as an Oak Bay Beach Hotel ambassador, living our purpose and vision with passion & energy, achievement and respect.
- Conduct sales calls, office presentations, site inspections and host qualified clients to close business. Travel will be required 25% of the time.
- Sales Manager will handle all contracted business accounts for the hotel, including Tour, FIT, and group segments.
- Attend relevant industry events representing the Oak Bay Beach Hotel.
- Liaise with Conference Services and Sales Team to identify need dates, availability and rates.
- Identify new business, send proposals within established guidelines, communicate with Sales and Conferences Services in timely manner to secure space, negotiate and execute contracts, confirming space to client once contract has been processed and payment secured.
- Prepare and execute departmental documents such as proposals, contracts, estimates and billing.
- Build relationships with existing clients and identify new potential clients
- Liaise with DGV to plan site tours and events being hosted by OBBH.
- Identify our top accounts and create a strategy of engagement and loyalty for them
- Proactively reach out to repeat business and identify additional business potential
- Work with the Director of Sales on a business development plan and marketing strategy targeting the specific markets as assigned.
- Increase room rental revenues and room nights out of the all markets, achieving specific targets.
- Gather and share market intelligence reports.
- Supports the Director of Sales (DOS) with all manner of administrative duties as required with support of Sales and Conference Services Coordinator.
- Be a flexible, team player, and recommend ways to improve or enhance departmental procedures
- Other duties as assigned.
- Act as Maestro and Proposal Path champion for both Sales and Conference Services.
**Qualifications**
- 2+ years’ experience in a hotel sales role
- Maestro experience preferred
- Excellent communication skills with a strong sense of customer service
- Highly motivated, enthusiastic and willing to take on new challenges and risks
- Highly organized and able to work under pressure and tight deadlines
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Pay: $60,000.00-$72,000.00 per year
