**Company**

In our Building Code consulting division, we work on major development projects in the Metro Vancouver area, ensuring these projects comply with different aspects of the BC Building Code and Vancouver Building Bylaw. Our services include Certified Professional (CP) services that would expedite the Building Permit review process of building authorities.

**Main Purpose & Function**

Reporting to principal engineers, the main focus of this position would be to conduct site visits on our ongoing projects that are under construction to ensure that they conform to our design and recommendations.
- Conduct site visits and prepare site reports outlining any deficiencies that were identified on site.
- Review shopdrawings on various aspects of project to ensure conformance to design documents.
- Work closely with engineers on developing engineering construction documents including drawings, sketches, and notes.
- Maintain and grow industry technical knowledge.
- Perform project coordination for ongoing construction projects.

**Qualifications**
- A post-secondary diploma or degree in, Architecture, Engineering, or other relevant area of study from a recognized technical institute or University - or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- A minimum of two years of experience working in Canada within an architectural and engineering consulting firm is an asset.
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence.
- Access to vehicle is an asset.

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**
- General understanding of buildings and building construction in concrete, steel, and timber.
- Demonstrated ability to correctly read that and interpret architectural, landscape architectural and engineering drawings; and to review and analyze complex technical reports.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve multiple project objectives within defined timelines
- Demonstrated teamwork and communication skills, together with considerable skill in problem-solving, are preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey information clearly and explain design issues and principles.
- Proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook, and Bluebeam is required. Experience with Revit is considered an asset.
- Technical writing skills are a must.

The level of compensation will depend on the applicant's work experience.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $50,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
