Payroll & Benefits Specialist

Dragados Canada, Inc., the Canadian construction arm of the ACS Group (one of the world’s largest international construction and engineering companies), is seeking a talented and eager Payroll & Benefits Specialist to join its dynamic and energetic team.
Dragados Canada was established in 2008 and has grown steadily into an industry leader in Canada, with offices in Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal, successfully performing a variety of large-scale transportation, bridge, dam, tunnel, and other major infrastructure projects.
**Responsibilities**
- Administer timecards, payroll, and payroll reporting, and ensure that payroll reports are downloaded, secured, and backed up on the company’s network
- Prepare and process payroll for 450 employees semi-monthly
- Communicate with ADP to enable accurate, timely processing of payroll
- Organize payroll mail, storage and documentation
- Ensure payroll reports are downloaded and data is securely and confidentially maintained
- Extract payroll data and report after each payroll is processed
- Assist managers, timekeepers, and schedulers with systems to ensure accurate time accounting for all employees
- Provide administrative support by responding to requests for verification of employment
- Administer RRSP/DPSP contributions
- Enter all new hires and prepare all transfers and promotions
- Process all terminated employees and calculate final pay
- Research employee payroll inquiries or answer questions
- Assist with annual merits, increases, special and retroactive calculations
- Assist with other special projects as required
- Process wage garnishments and child support requests
- Generate, complete and process quarterly audits
- Handle special projects and perform other duties as assigned
- Stay abreast of payroll compliance issues and payroll system upgrades via continuing professional development
**Qualifications**
- University degree or college diploma in Human Resources, Administration, Accounting or other related discipline is preferred
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation is required
- Minimum 5 years of experience with high-volume paperless payroll
- Experience processing payroll for at least 300 employees
- Experience in administration of any Time & Attendance system
- Experience in accounting and human resource will be considered an asset
- Working knowledge of Canadian labour and payroll laws
- Experience with/exposure to ADP Workforce Now and Time & Attendance
- Superior written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Fluency in either French or Spanish will be considered an asset
- Great follow-through skills, advanced math and logic skills
- Professional, organized, detail-oriented, and customer service oriented
- Ability to appropriately handle confidential information and maintain confidence
- Great customer service mindset
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments under high pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Great energy, engaging, and enjoying collaborating with the team
- Willingness to work outside of business hours if needed
**_ Working hours are between 8:30am and 5:30pm (with a 30-minute lunch) Monday through Thursday and 8:30am to 1:30pm on Fridays. This role can work from home one day a week._**
