**The Position**
The Program Manager is responsible for leading team operations, education and projects that align with the organization’s strategic goals. Responsible for developing high-quality communications, both written and verbal, for presentations, curriculum, and consultation that engages a wide variety of stakeholders.
Reporting to the Director, Professional Practice, the Program Manager is accountable for providing leadership and managing the professional practice team. The Program Manager will provide direct support to the team members and upon request to other key areas of the organization as directed by the Director.
The Program Manager will also lead/collaborate with other members of the association and/or key stakeholders as required to achieve organizational goals. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
**Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following**:
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Achieves operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations for career development, education and professional practice projects; identifies trends; determines improvements; prepares and completes reports; implements change in order to meet the operational objectives and strategic goals of the organization.
- Responsible for responding to and acting as a resource for the practice team when responding to inquiries from Registered Practical Nurses (RPNs), practical nurse students, employers and other individuals requesting assistance and advice regarding career and/or practice issues or the role of the RPN, using a variety of evidence informed resources.
- Provides leadership, manages staff and conducts regular performance reviews. Supports the established performance objectives of the individual staff member by offering direction, support or resources as required.
- Working with the professional practice, government initiatives and other programs’ teams, develops, revises, manages, delivers and evaluates a full range of in person and online programs through webinars, presentations, workshops, eLearning, conferences, AGM and other public events for a variety of audiences.
- Accountable for WeRPN monthly webinars, including procurement of speakers, planning event and themes, coordinates all logístical aspects of webinar delivery including set up, rehearsals, technical support, hosting, and other tasks as required. Develops descriptions for the website and social media and collaborates with the communications team to market events.
- Develops curriculum to create stimulating education and resources to support WeRPN and government initiatives and programs that align with the operational and strategic plan, in collaboration with the Program Director(s).
- Responsible for the development, implementation, data collection, monitoring and evaluation of all education and professional practice projects. Reviews and makes recommendations to enhance initiatives based on qualitative and quantitative analysis.
- Responsible for managing the Learning Management System, including training facilitators, registration, technical support, and the liaison with external vendor for system support.
- Responsible for maintaining data integrity of WeRPN education and professional development resources by reviewing and updating existing resources annually or as required when changes occur.
- Responsible for facilitating outreach and cross-promotion of all the association’s education, programs and other offerings with external organizations.
- Acts as a WeRPN representative as a stakeholder at meetings and committees as assigned.

- Engage in growing and maintaining a positive, supportive and collaborative professional culture throughout the organization.
- Works in a safe manner. Follows policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Registered Practical Nursing Certificate/Diploma with an undergraduate degree from an accredited program preferred.
- Active member of the College of Nurses of Ontario in good standing and of their professional association (WeRPN, RNAO or CNA)
- Three years of leadership experience in a management or a supervisory position.
- Previous experience with curriculum/program development. French an asset.
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of RPN practice in nursing, communications, project management and adult learning.
- High degree of comprehensive knowledge of professional practice
- Clear understanding of the role of the RPN in Ontario
- High degree of professionalism for representing WeRPN at meetings of government officials, health care organizations, stakeholders, and the public
- Proficient with web and literature searches, synthesizing data and analysis.
