We’re looking for our next Supervisor, Corporate Actions. Could It Be You?
The role of the Supervisor, Corporate Actions is to plan and monitor the daily activities within the Voluntary and Mandatory Corporate Actions teams while ensuring administrators and analysts adhere to operational and compliance policies and procedures.

They mitigate financial, regulatory and reputational risks by ensuring the SLA and regulatory compliance of third-party clearing operations services and in-house processes. They work collaboratively to foster productive and positive relationships for the benefit of Questrade’s clients and overall business operations.

What’s it like working as a Supervisor, Corporate Actions at Questrade?
The Supervisor, Corporate Actions will work collaboratively within the supervisory & management group to coordinate the activities of the Corporate Actions Analysts to successfully meet the business needs. They monitor service quality to ensure service levels are consistently achieved by resolving issues efficiently and effectively, and collect, interpret and report on metrics.
In addition, the Supervisor, Corporate Actions acts as a key escalation point for Corporate Actions Analysts for issues.

- Excellent knowledge of Voluntary and Mandatory reorganizations including proxy-related activities
- Working knowledge about tax implications, trade and settlement activities
- Monitor team processing Voluntary Corporate Actions timely and accurately, this includes event set-up, announcement and processing of various Corporate Actions events (tender offers, distribution, dividends, elections, rights offerings, proxy, consent offers etc) as well as reconciling, monitoring and posting of entitlements to client accounts
- Create/maintain process and procedure documentation
- Liaise with external vendors as required and maintain productive relationships with third party service provider - Broadridge and transfer agents
- Review and sign-off on multiple daily reports within Clearing Operations
- Review and approve weekly and monthly reconciliations
- Be an integral part of designing and implementing processes & procedures for Corporate Actions to meet identified objectives
- Supports and de-escalate client inquiries and requests in a timely manner
- Researching and responding to inquiries from internal business groups, depositories, agents, clients and/or issuers
- Serves as a resource for junior staff, expected to have an understanding of all corporate action procedures, corporate action events and market practices
- Collaborate with peers and employees as well as other department heads and administrators to identify and implement processing and procedural improvements
- Identify potential operating improvements, research and make necessary recommendations for changes
- Coordinate project initiatives with partners in Operations, Technology, Risk, Trading and Compliance
- Initiate or participate in projects, communicate project status and provide timely escalation of issues to the manager to ensure project objectives are met
- Support the growth of the Corporate Actions team including planning for staffing and work flow allocation
- Assess training needs within the team
- Focus on coaching and the growth of any direct reports
- Take on special projects as assigned

- Experience working in clearing operations or back office
- 4+ years experience in Corporate Actions/Entitlements and leading a team
- Excellent communication, time management and organizational skills
- Excellent analytical/accounting skills to accurately determine complex entitlement payments and finalize corporate actions processes
- Be able to work well under pressure in a fast paced, high-risk environment while maintaining a professional manner.
- Nice to have technical skills - Python, SQL, Google Suite
- CSI course completion, including CSC, CPH exam is an asset
- Experience using Broadridge BPS is preferred
- Post-secondary degree/diploma in related field
