**1 ‑ Full Time ‑ Manager, Supportive Services**
**Mental Health Outpatient Clinic**
The Manager is responsible and accountable for clinical practice and the development of systems that ensure quality
outcomes within the supportive services, including Social Work and Supportive Care, as well as the outpatient
services offered by the Brief Intervention & Treatment Team (BITT) and the Shared Care service.
In accordance with professional practice standards, regulatory bodies, bylaws and guidelines, the Manager is
responsible for creating a professional practice environment which fosters the provision of quality patient care and
will provide leadership and guidance to the program and staff. The Manager will provide oversight of the programs to
deliver strategies to address challenges and gaps in service for those seeking assistance. Using a variety of tools
and techniques grounded in evidence‑based practices the Manager will liaise with community partners locally,
regionally and within the district to develop models of practice that best service the clients and patients participating
in the programs. The Manager will foster relationships with internal and external resources to support continued
learning and education of the staff to ensure competency and evolution of practice.
**Qualifications**:
**Education**:
- Degree in clinical‑related field from an accredited university
- Master's Degree preferred
- Unencumbered registration with related professional regulatory body if applicable
- Knowledge and experience with Cognitive Behavioural Therapies preferred
- Non Violent Crisis Intervention certification preferred
- ASIST (applied suicide intervention skill training) preferred
- Indigenous Cultural Stafety Training
**Experience**:
- Clinical Leadership experience (3 years minimum)
- Minimum 5 years recent experience in Mental Health
- Demonstrated commitment to the principles of Patient and Family Centered Care
- Demonstrated commitment to professional practice and contribution to professional workplace/environment
Skills (in addition to behavioural competencies identified above)
- Analytical skills in order to monitor, assess and implement programs and address operational needs and ensure
fiscal sustainability
- Demonstrated strong communication skills, both oral and written
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence to interact effectively with staff, patients, family
supports, community partners and Patient Advocate
- Leadership and teamwork skills to support, coach, direct, mentor and teach clinical staff to promote positive staff
relations
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of Mental Health Act and Health Care Consent Act
- Knowledge of local, regional and provincial issues impacting child & youth mental health care and services in
Northwestern Ontario
- Knowledge of Child Protection Legislation
- Knowledge of Regulated Health Professions Act
- Demonstrated knowledge in Anishnabek culture, values, traditions and teachings
- Experience dealing with all areas of child health including child protection
- Experience with First Nations communities in the Northwest Region
- Management theory and project management as it applies to a program management model
- Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act in order to meet the criteria for competent supervision as per
the Act
- Change theory in order to act as a change agent to support change initiatives in clinical practice and those
mandated within the program.
- Knowledge of the health care landscape, including the roles of local provincial and federal providers
- Knowledge of trauma‑informed care principles
- Demonstrated knowledge and practice using the patient and family centered care philosophy
Salary Range: $53.082 to 62.450
