**About the Role**
Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the HR Administration & Payroll Coordinator is responsible for supporting the HR department functions, and the ongoing administration and maintenance of Canada Royal Milk’s payroll, benefits, and human resources information systems.
Commitment to customer service excellence is required to join the Human Resources and Administration team. The Coordinator interacts frequently with all CRM employees, responding to questions in a timely manner, and providing resources as required.
Job Requirements
Education: University degree or College Diploma in a related field such as Human Resources, Compensation or Finance.
Experience: Between 1 to 2 years of progressively responsible, related experience in a fast-paced business environment. Related experience should include customer-facing experience, with frequent interaction with clients/employees.
Assets
- Advanced written and oral communication skills in English and Mandarin/Simplified Chinese considered an asset
- Knowledge of or experience working in human resources functions.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Advanced computing skills, including excel functions
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality based on the requirement to access, review, maintain and distribute sensitive communication, materials, and records
- Knowledge of or exposure to human resources functions, employment, and privacy law, and/or payroll
- Knowledge of human resources information systems (HRIS) or experience working with databases
- Maintain a high level of accuracy and detail orientation
- Ability to show versatility and resourcefulness when problem solving
- Ability to organize priorities based on deadlines and importance of tasks
- Strong interpersonal skills: ability to effectively communicate information with all team members and management
**Highlights of Key Duties and Responsibilities**
- Administer the full-cycle payroll process, staying current on legislation related to payroll, benefits, and privacy.
- Administer and maintain employee benefits programs: participate in the renewal and/or development of new programs.
- Maintain comprehensive employee records, including, but not limited to attendance, leave, overtime, shift premiums, vacation entitlement, benefit entitlements, professional development, training records, performance, and awards
- Develop and run reports related to employee records and under direction of HR Manager, share with leadership team.
- Maintains internal communication systems and channels with current information and notices
- Communicates changes and updates to employee programs, company policies and human resources notifications in a timely manner
- Deliver employee focused service: responding to employees in a timely manner and with care.
**Working Conditions**
The standard office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. Most of the work occurs during regular weekday office hours. As a food processing company with continuous 24-7 operations, the HSE Officer will be required to work outside of administration hours to maintain a positive safety culture with all departments and functions within the plant. Hours will include some evenings and weekends on occasion.
As a dairy processor and infant formula manufacturer, CRM strives to exceed regulatory requirements for food safety, quality, hygiene, and good manufacturing practices. All employees who enter the processing areas for any reason must comply with all food safety protocols in addition to health and safety best practices.
