Look no further HighMart, your premier destination for an international grocery and convenience experience, is seeking an enthusiastic Manager to lead our specialty retail store to new heights.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**1. Scheduling**: Develop and manage employee schedules to ensure optimal coverage and excellent customer service, while efficiently utilizing staffing resources.

**2. Payroll**: Oversee payroll processes, ensuring accurate and timely compensation for employees in alignment with company policies.

**3. Stock Receiving**: Supervise stock receiving operations, ensuring inventory accuracy and efficient storage of global food and convenience products.

**4. Customer Service**: Uphold a customer-centric culture by providing exemplary service and fostering a welcoming environment for all shoppers.

**5. Customer Complaints (Resolving)**: Skillfully address customer complaints, working to resolve issues promptly and amicably, maintaining a positive shopping experience.

**6. Merchandising**: Collaborate with the merchandising team to create visually appealing displays that showcase our diverse product range, enticing customers to explore and purchase.

**7. Delegating Employees**: Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members, capitalizing on their strengths and fostering professional growth.

**8. Assuring Store Runs Smoothly**: Maintain operational excellence by overseeing day-to-day activities, troubleshooting challenges, and implementing solutions to ensure smooth store operations.

**9. Assuring Store is Kept Clean**: Ensure the store's cleanliness and organization are upheld at all times, creating an inviting and hygienic shopping environment.

**10. Security Monitoring**: Implement security protocols to safeguard the store, its assets, and the well-being of customers and employees.

**11. Opening and/or Closing of Store**: Responsible for the efficient opening and/or closing procedures, ensuring a seamless transition for staff and customers.

**12. Key Holding**: Safeguard store keys and maintain responsible access control.

**13. Deposits and/or Other Bank Transactions**: Handle financial transactions, including deposits and other banking tasks as needed, following established procedures.

**14. Hiring/Firing**: Participate in the recruitment, selection, and onboarding of new team members, as well as making difficult decisions regarding employment terminations when necessary.

**Qualifications**:

- Proven retail management experience, preferably in a specialty retail environment.
- Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and guide a diverse team.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to oversee various aspects of store operations.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with customers, employees, and corporate stakeholders.
- Problem-solving acumen to address challenges swiftly and effectively.
- Knowledge of merchandising principles to create enticing product displays.
- Proficiency in using technology for scheduling, payroll, and inventory management.
- Understanding of security measures to ensure store safety.
- Familiarity with banking processes for financial transactions.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: From $17.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift
- Weekends as needed

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Halifax, NS B3J 1G5: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Education**:

- Secondary School (preferred)

Work Location: In person
