The Store Manager is responsible for handling the daily operations and management of the Paint Shop store. This role is accountable to oversee the staffing requirements of the store and to achieve the sales and operational expense control targets set for the particular location. They are also responsible for inventory replenishment, dealing with customer service issues and loss prevention.
Responsibilities
Coordinating daily retail store operations including sales processes, ordering, inventory control and other administrative processes as required.
Assist all customers in a professional and timely manner.
Participate in sales planning and business development.
Actively take part in all training programs offered by the retail store.
Maintain merchandising standards established by operational managers including window displays, sales floor displays, promotional displays, etc.
Ensure Paint Shop Promotional Planner is executed each sales period.
Coach and support new and existing Sales Associates.
To actively participate in store activities including unloading of trucks, stocking shelves, carrying merchandise out for customers, having the ability to lift a determined weight of merchandise and delivering paint when needed.
Supports and maintains loss prevention and OH&S policies and procedures on a daily basis.
Present a professional, neat appearance, maintain a good attendance record and arrive at work at the scheduled time.
Participate in all daily store housekeeping responsibilities that include interior/exterior maintenance, product organization, etc.
Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Leadership and organizational abilities including the ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
Interpersonal and communication skills.
Problem-solving attitude.
Displaying effective customer service skills on an ongoing basis.
Strong detail-oriented abilities and skills.
Ability to negotiate in an effective way with customers, coworkers, and vendors.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Ability to work in a fast paced/changing environment.
Being highly motivated with a strong willingness to learn.
Being able to manage your time efficiently and appropriately.
This position involves a wide variety of tasks including bending, lifting and sitting. Individual must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
Experience
Two years’ experience in a retail management position
Previous experience working in the Paint & Coatings industry would be considered an asset
High School Diploma mandatory
Degree or Diploma in Business/Retail preferred
Working knowledge with MS Office Suite
This is a representation of the responsibilities associated with the position of Store Manager. However, other tasks do exist, and the Store Manager will be responsible for performing all other duties as directed.
