**Working at Fanshawe College**

**Note**: This is a full-time temporary Support position until October 3, 2025 (35 hours per week).

**Duties**: Under the direction of the Manager, Advising Centre, the Advisor - Admissions and Pathways, is a member of a team that is responsible for facilitating and managing the pre-admission advising, admissions advising, prior learning assessment and recognition (PLAR) and credit transfer process for domestic prospects, (unique cohorts include direct from high school and non-direct, internationally trained and educated, WSIB, Second Career First Generation, Military Connected Students, Newcomers, Refugee Scholarships for Permanent Residents), applicants and current students.

The Advisor applies in-depth program, admissions, career-fit and transfer credit knowledge to provide problem analysis and solution determination in all applicant matters, enabling applicants to meet their enrollment goals, while simultaneously meeting current and future enrolment needs of Fanshawe College. The incumbent provides support for admission and retention initiatives as assigned.**Qualifications**
- Post-secondary 3-year diploma/degree in Social Sciences, Education, Sociology, Psychology, or related discipline
- Minimum 5 years’ advising experience in a post-secondary institution, including interviewing and advising prospects, applicants and students
- An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered; preference will be given to applicants meeting the education requirements
- Career Practitioner Certificate or equivalent preferred
- Demonstrated strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team
- Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills
