Human Resources Advisor

We have a highly sought-after **Human Resources Advisor (HRA)** opportunity available within our dynamic HR team. This role is integral to supporting Bison’s overall HR/People Development program and acts as an ambassador to the business. Reporting to the HR Manager, the HRA is key in supporting the employee experience including full cycle recruitment for non-driving staff, new hire onboarding, performance management, employee recognition, wellness and culture. The HRA demonstrates Human Resource Professional Practices at all times and displays a high level of effort and commitment to performing work; operates effectively within the organizational structure; demonstrates trustworthiness and responsible behavior.

**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Performance Management/Employee Relations** - Full cycle support of performance management activities ensuring compliance under all legislative statutes (Canada Labour Code, etc). This also includes establishing partnerships with leaders and employees at all levels as well as with external clients and vendors.
- ** Benefits & Disability Program** - Support activities related to the administration of benefits including enrollment of benefits for new staff, changes, etc.
- ** Data Management**:Data integrity is key and comes from meticulous attention to detail. Our HR team members act as our data gatekeepers and ensures that all employee data is entered, actioned, and stored accurately and on-time. You will be developed into one of our ‘Subject Matter Experts” and assist leaders and employees with Workday (HRMS) activities and queries**.**:
- ** Culture Building & Employee Engagement Programs**:Our HRA is an ambassador for all our culture building and engagement activities such as monthly diversity and wellness initiatives, mental health supports, summer lunches, fundraising campaigns through United Way and Bison Cares, rewards and recognition, and all other social committee or corporate events we run throughout the year.
- Performs other duties as required.
**Desired Skills and Experience**:
- Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience working in an HR Generalist or HR Advisory capacity or a combination of experience and post-secondary education in a related field is required.
- Strong business acumen and organizational agility.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and part of a team with the proven ability to act in both the strategic and tactical levels in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholder relationships and work effectively with various levels of employees.
- A strong work ethic and high levels of initiative, enthusiasm, and reliability. Practice great discretion with sensitive, confidential information.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- The ability to manage high pressure situations while maintaining high quality business outcomes.
- Excellent oral communication skills for face-to-face, video and telephone interviews, and excellent written communication skills - specifically speaking with clarity and confidence and writing concise job posting and job descriptions.
- Experience using a sophisticated HRMS tool, preferably Workday
- Previous experience within a similar industry is desirable (i.e. Call Center, Manufacturing, etc.)
- Ability to adapt to workload and working conditions while maintaining a positive, approachable attitude and professional demeanor.
