**EMPLOYMENT COACH**

**Position Overview**

Hospitality Training Action Centre 75 (HTA 75) seeking an Employment Coach to support program participants and organization clients, assess skills and hospitality occupation match, and refer community and wrap around needs as necessary. Reporting to the Employment Manager, this role will ensure program participants and organization clients have end-to-end support on their employment journey into the hospitality industry.

By helping hospitality workers to strengthen their skills and well-being, HTA 75 enhances the quality and sustainability of jobs within the hospitality sector. This means hospitality and food service jobs with good wages, opportunities for career advancement, and enhanced health and retirement benefits. HTA 75 work in partnership with hospitality employers to design and adapt solutions and services that will most effectively meet the needs of the hospitality workforce and industry to support people to return to work safely, quickly, and stronger than ever.

**What can you expect to do in this role?**
- Interview and assess participants to support their employment and career goals
- Identify barriers to employment and assist participants with job readiness skills, job search strategies, writing resumes and preparing for job interviews
- Assess need for assistance such as rehabilitation, financial aid or further training and refer participants to the appropriate services
- Provide incumbent workers with information and strategies for job retention and/or career mobility, addressing job dissatisfaction, mid-career changes and adjusting to workplace transitions
- Assess and determine the interests, aptitudes, and abilities of participants with appropriate job matching
- Provide career development and counselling to clients and offer additional support and coaching to ensure long-term employment success
- Deliver employment modules for training programs as needed
- Meet 1-on-1 with participants to provide support and resources on regular basis
- Ensure registration forms and follow-up reports and completed
- Create engagement tools to maintain contact with participants post-programs
- Support post-program activities such as satisfaction surveys, reporting updates, data collection and other duties as required
- Provide retention supports for employers and participants, which may include on-site visits and coaching

**Qualifications**

Experience
- Understanding of careers and occupations, various job requirements, job search techniques, career planning/counselling, and vocational rehabilitation
- Experience in coaching or career development
- Experience motivating and empowering others through coaching and feedback
- Experience in working with communities of diverse backgrounds and vulnerable populations
- Experience working within the hospitality industry

Skills and Knowledge
- Knowledge of solution-focused coaching methodology and best practices
- Knowledge of local, regional, and provincial labour markets
- Strong interview skills ability and the ability to adjust communication style dependent on various personality and learning style
- Strong relationship-building skills with various stakeholders (E.g., Employers, community partners, participants, etc.)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills including interpersonal and active listening skills
- Strong organizational, time management, and task prioritization skills
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Strong proficiency with MS Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint

Other Requirements
- Able to work weekends and evenings when required
- Ability to travel to events and HTA on-site training programs around the Greater Toronto Area when required (access to a personal vehicle, public transit)
- Strong ability to work as an independent contributor as well as collaboratively in a team.

**Important Information**

**Job Term**: Full-Time Contract - to March 31, 2023 with the possibility of an extension

**Annual Salary**: $60,000 to $65,000 (pro-rated for duration of contract)
