The National Control Centre (NCC) Manager acts as operational lead and coach to a group of clerical professionals and supports the NCC operations through administrative services, active involvement, and team support. The Manager will be responsible for long
- and short-range planning, analyzing, and resolving network issues, facilitating crisis response, and managing real-time network performance monitoring to the organization along with assisting the overall network operations.

**Responsibilities**
- Responsible for day-to-day administrative activities, scheduling, and ensuring NCC coordinators are performing their duties as required.
- Directly supervises a group of 8-10 clerical professionals, and 1 supervisor by developing job descriptions and assigning duties.
- Formulates performance standards, conducts evaluations, coaches, and mentors supervisor/co-ordinators
- Facilitate compliance to processes: TMS and Case Management and Identify improvement/development opportunities
- Administer Crisis Management activities as necessary and provide visibility and reporting to senior management
- Liaison with 40+ external transport suppliers and Holiday Planning
- Coordinate activities and planning with internal departments including Linehaul, GTT, GTM, Field Ops, Air Ops, Hubs, Purolator International, Purolator Logistics, Purolator Freight, and GOC partners such as SCI and CPC
- Work with HR staff to recruit, interview, select, hire, and employ staff and participate in full new employee onboarding
- Balance trailers within the network via the tools available (SAP TM)
- Reposition trailers requiring maintenance within the network
- Comply and follow policies and procedures
- Develop and promote an NCC department that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, and high performance.
- Assist in the planning and implementation of systems that improve the efficiency of business processes and procedures
- Initiate escalation and reporting for operational challenges

**Qualifications**
- Completion of High School Plus an Additional Work-Related Program Up to One Academic Year of Duration, Course, or courses specific to an occupational area, often courses result in a certificate in an occupational specialty
- Experience managing an operations call center environment and must be knowledgeable in transportation practices and an understanding of Purolator’s network.
- Over 2 years and including 3 years (often progressive experience)
- Must be knowledgeable in transportation practices and an understanding of Purolator’s network
- Front line operations experience and network project initiatives are also important experiences for the role.
- Ability to make quick decisions that impact network operations from decisions on transportation connectivity to decisions on cost and service.
- Strong leadership skills
- Must influence the successful connectivity of ad hoc movements.
