**Position: Intermediate Professional Biologist/Ecologist**

As an Intermediate Professional Biologist/Ecologist within Madrone's Biology practice, you'll assume a key team member role in our daily operations, utilizing your extensive experience, organizational acumen, and leadership skills to drive the success of our current initiatives while identifying and nurturing new opportunities for our team. Working closely alongside a dedicated team of professionals, you'll play an integral role in driving various initiatives focused on enhancing operational efficiency while providing invaluable insights and support to produce professional reports.

Your primary focus will be on overseeing projects from inception to completion, ensuring their seamless execution and adherence to regulatory requirements.

**Qualifications and Attributes**:

- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in environmental biological sciences or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Possess Professional Biologist (R.P.Bio.) designation or equivalent, with current registration or eligibility for immediate registration in British Columbia.
- Minimum of 3 years of consulting experience or equivalent, with a focus on environmental assessments pertaining to wildlife biology, habitat ecology, fisheries, and restoration ecology.
- Working understanding of relevant provincial and federal environmental regulations.
- Ideally, have practical experience with Terrestrial Ecosystem Mapping (TEM) or implementing the Riparian Areas Regulations (RAPR), along with familiarity with Provincial and Municipal bylaws.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Providing data-driven permitting and regulatory support services.
- Offering expert guidance to team members on conducting environmental assessments across diverse client sectors.
- Taking the lead on specific tasks related to field supervision and advising external contractors.
- Mentoring and developing intermediate and junior staff, fostering their growth and providing technical direction.
- Cultivating and managing strong client relationships, both existing and prospective.
- Upholding rigorous Quality Management standards across all projects.
- Actively participating in multidisciplinary projects, providing guidance and coaching to team members.
- Contributing to the strategic development of the Biology team, driving growth, profitability, and innovation in processes, services, geographical expansion, and client engagement.
- Undertaking project management responsibilities such as cost tracking, invoicing, and ensuring timely deliverables.
- Engaging in business development activities on behalf of the company.

**Compensation & Benefits**:
Pay Scale: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
