- **The Job**:_
The Human Resources Administrator will provide HR expertise and administrative support to The Other Bird in achieving its organizational and cultural objectives and responsibilities. This position works in partnership with The Other Bird Executive Team specifically in facilitating all tasks related to team member health, happiness, record keeping and performance.
Major areas of focus will include recruitment & retention, compensation & benefits, legal compliance, and employee relations.
- **Main Duties & Responsibilities**:_
**RECRUITMENT SUPPORT**:
- Post job ads and vacancies on job boards and social media
- Schedule and coordinate job interviews
- Assist in pre-interview calls and reference checks
- Prepare job offer letters and management contracts
- Provide support during recruitment activities like job fairs and career events
**ONBOARDING**:
- Ensure the company handbook is up-to-date as organization evolves
- Liaise with payroll officer to ensure new team members are added to the system and completed onboarding documents are tracked
**COMPENSATION & BENEFITS**:
- Design and administer compensation strategies to remain equitable and competitive
- Research and identify new rewards & recognition strategies to continually enhance team member engagement and motivation
- Oversee and facilitate The Other Bird’s management benefits enrolment and updates
**RECORD KEEPING**:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date team member records, including personal information, employment contracts, performance evaluations, vacation requests and benefits documentation
- Help during exit interviews and complete termination documentation
- Manage team member incident reports and WSIB filings
- Roll out, update and track internal policies and team member sign-offs
**PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT**:
- Support in preparing and managing team member actions and other official documents related to performance improvement, transfers, suspension, resignation, and exits
- Work with managers and HR consultant to conduct internal investigations and responses to matters related to internal policies and employment standards
- Help in conducting exit interviews or termination meetings as required
- Process all final and severance payments. Serve as the point of contact after separation.
- **How Much Work & When**:_
- 40 hours per week
- Must be able to balance a weekly schedule based on business needs.
- Must be able to adjust hours for administrative, social, or other needs outside normal business hours.
- We don’t want you to overwork, and we don’t want you to underwork. We just expect you to manage your time.
- **Where You Work**:_
- This position is based out of our Main Office in downtown Hamilton, ON with the flexibility to work from home
- Reliable transportation and a G Class Driver's License are requirements for this position.

- **Ideally, You Have Experience / Education**:_
- Post Secondary Diploma/Degree in Human Resources is required.
- 2+ years of progressive Human Resources admin experience is required.
- Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) Designation is preferred.
- Experience with implementing and working with HRIS systems is required.
- Demonstrated ability to have a positive impact on business outcomes is required.
- Extended work experience in the Hospitality Industry will be an asset.
- Experience with Google Workspace, including Gmail, Google Drive, and Google Calendar, Payworks and 7Shifts will be an asset.
