**Your Opportunity**:
This is a key leadership role in the delivery of Primary Care and reports directly to the Executive Director, Primary Care, Chronic Disease Management & Family Health, North Zone. This position is responsible and accountable for providing the direction, leadership and organization over the activities of the organization in support of the vision, mission and business plan of Alberta Health Services. These activities also will include the integration and collaboration of various resources to carry out these activities. The position is responsible and accountable for making key decisions and having direct leadership responsibility for establishing and contributing to the achievement of the goals of the Primary Care Program and Alberta’s Primary Care Strategy.

**Description**:
Strategic Planning Provides input into the strategic formulation, development or administration of policy and programs to support primary care delivery. Contributes to the development of the strategic plan and the establishment of operational priorities. Develops operational strategies to be incorporated into the business plan that reflects the short and long term operational needs of the organization. Leads ongoing integration and efficiency efforts within Community based services. Operational Leadership Leads complex projects or programs with significant risk and complexity to achieve milestones and objectives; develops the work plan for project execution. Provides AHS leadership and representation to the Primary Care Initiatives, Primary Care Networks with setting strategic priorities in the business planning, goal setting and budgeting. Provides leadership through effective communication, ethical decision making and commitment to achieving established goals and objectives and/or administering programs. Responsible to plan work activities and to take independent action in controlling the quality of work performed. Identifies key challenges and opportunities and provides leadership to support the development of innovative approaches in way that enable the achievement of the vision and long term goals. Provides leadership to the Primary Care Team, AHS Primary Care Clinics and to AHS management and staff through effective communication, ethical decision making, and commitment to achieving established goals and objectives, ensuring outcome measurements and standards are met. Fosters a high-quality workplace with strong commitment to quality, process improvement and patient and family centered care.

**Required Qualifications**:
A minimum of a baccalaureate degree in a health-related field. Active Registration within health related professional body. A minimum of 5 years in a management role related to the delivery of Primary Care, ideally in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity (healthcare experience an asset). An understanding of population demographics, health economics and needs analysis processes would be considered an asset. A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development. Working knowledge of the health care system is required. Facilitation and/or coordination experience in project planning, execution, reporting, monitoring, and evaluation. Significant experience in problem solving, concerns resolution, investigation, and negotiation.

**Additional Required Qualifications**:
