**Edmonton Southside Primary Care Network - Mental Health Educator**

The Edmonton Southside Primary Care Network was the first PCN in Alberta. Over the past 17 years, the ESPCN has grown to become the largest PCN in Edmonton and consists of a team of health care professionals who are passionate about creating healthier communities. We are currently seeking an experienced full-time, temporary **Mental Health Educator **to join our team This will be a 12-month contract with the possibility of extension.

**Position Overview**:
The Clinical Educator will be responsible for the clinical development, education and training of ESPCN employees and for assisting with the integration of ESPCN employees, programs and services within ESPCN member clinics. The Clinical Educator will promote continuous professional learning across the organization and provide services that allow ESPCN employees to learn, develop and improve in their roles and within the primary care setting.

The Mental Health Educator will report to a Primary Care Manager.

**Key Roles and Responsibilities**:

- To work collaboratively with ESPCN employees, management, physicians and corporate partners within a primary care setting.
- Provide a leadership role in the planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of education for discipline specific staff including orientation, compulsory and continuing education, professional development, and on-boarding.
- Promoting the clinical competence of discipline specific staff and patient centered care through changes in policy, procedures, protocols, and technology.
- Collaborate with management to promote standards of clinical, educational and evidence informed practice.
- Play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and mission of ESPCN.
- To develop appropriate education and training for individual employees, professional groups, teams and physicians that is aligned with individual and group needs and the ESPCN’s strategic direction.
- To act as a resource to ESPCN employees and managers in the growth and development of their role

**Experience, Skills & Qualifications**:

- Current licensure in good standing with appropriate professional licensing body.
- Master’s Degree preferred or equivalent experience will be considered.
- Acts as an expert clinician and key educator/resource for discipline-specific staff within the principles of adult learning.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare provider
- Vehicle/license required
- Previous experience:

- Leadership/education/organizational development experience preferred
- Primary health care setting preferred
- working with an Electronic Medical Record
- Working with multidisciplinary teams and fostering team based care
- Understand the Alberta privacy laws and act according to those laws.
- Should behave responsibly, be accountable and have excellent written and verbal skills, problem solving/critical thinking skills.
- To support the vision and mission of the Primary Care Network.
