**Our Human Resources and Corporate Services Department is seeking a Business Solutions Planner who will be a key role within the IT Project Management Office, helping to effectively manage and evolve the IT Work Plan.**

**This role**:

- Coordinates strategic business systems planning for information technology requests and requirements across the organization; analyzes dependencies and business processes across projects; identifies measures to evaluate system impacts and project performance; defines standards for work planning; recommends project prioritization and sequencing; monitors projects and provides guidance to ensure they are on track to meet departmental requirements, and are aligned with corporate objectives.
- Leads complex enterprise systems analysis relating cross-system data, dashboards and data integration; identifies and collaborates with stakeholders across the organization to identify system measures and to develop standards and frameworks that support business systems project planning and an enterprise reporting system; monitors project performance and makes recommendations for continuous improvements to information technology project and work planning processes.
- Provides work planning guidance to project managers to ensure that projects across the organization are on track across all project management domains such as scope, schedule, cost, resources, and risk; reviews work plans and advises on required adjustments; assists with project management tasks such as identifying requirements, documenting solutions, preparing alternatives, developing business cases and implementation plans as required.
- Performs project management tasks as required in the analysis and planning of complex enterprise system information technology projects; translates business requirements into functional specifications; defines standards, directions and road maps; identifies system implications; conducts feasibility studies; analyzes cost effectiveness; prepares business cases and requests for proposals; prepares implementation plans; directs and oversees contractors; and evaluates project outcomes.
- Acts as a liaison between client departments, project teams, contractors, vendors and other stakeholders; assists with the resolution of problems and issues; supports work planning and project management activities, and participates in strategic planning with client departments as required.
- Prepares reports and makes presentations related to the work performed; conducts research in support of the work and maintains up-to-date knowledge of developments in the information technology industry; recommends best practices for information systems work planning and coordination across departments.
- Participates in the development of short and long-term road maps for business systems planning; makes recommendations to align departmental work plans with corporate information system requirements.
- Performs related work as required.

**To be successful, you have**:

- Completion of a university degree in computer sciences or engineering, Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) completion an asset, plus considerable related experience in business systems analysis and planning, and in agile/scrum methodology; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Thorough knowledge of problem definition and analysis related to business processes and integrated systems planning.
- Thorough knowledge of business and business systems planning principles, methods and standards.
- Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of administrative and project management.
- Considerable knowledge of information technology components, system inter-dependencies, processes and developments related to the work performed.
- Considerable knowledge of the functions of departments and corporate objectives as it relates to information technology requirements.
- Considerable knowledge of departmental policies and procedures.
- Ability to document, analyze, integrate and evaluate a variety of data, identify enterprise system priorities and resources, and to develop work and project plans for corporate business solutions and systems.
