Heuvelmans is looking for a **Pre-Owned Car Sales Manager**. This is a full-time position that will report to our store at 755 Grand Avenue West, Chatham from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM and be available every other Saturday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
**Major Responsibilities**
**_ Leadership_**
- Training and motivating sales team - establishing sales goals for the team and working with team members to establish personal goals.
- Coaching staff members through deals and customer interactions - helping to desk/close sales deals, balancing the needs of customers, Sales Consultants, and the dealership.
- Fostering a strong team environment with other departments as you will be working very closely with them to provide outstanding customer service, as well as utilizing their services for reconditioning.
- Ensuring all sales team members are properly educated on all vehicles on the lot, especially off-brand units. Our staff needs to be confident and knowledgeable in what they are selling.
- Quarterbacking regular sale meetings and creating hype around exciting units on the lot or landing soon.
- Must ensure good communication between Sales Managers, Pre-Owned Managers, and General Managers at other stores is maintained.
- Covering for the General Sales Manager when they are away or unavailable. As part of the variable department management team, you will be expected to cover all aspects of the General Sales Manager’s role when they are away or unavailable.
**_ Merchandising_**
- Appraising vehicles that are being traded in or purchased through private sales. It is expected that the Pre-Owned Manager will be the “go-to” for performing appraisals.
- Overseeing reconditioning of used vehicles and deciding which will be Certified, Safetied, and Wholesaled - must ensure that traded and purchased vehicles are serviced, cleaned, and put on the lot in a neat, presentable and timely manner. All vehicles on the lot must be wiped of personal information, and SXM radios should be refreshed so available trials are active.
- Subletting used vehicles for reconditioning should the need arise and being the point person for any outside work being performed.
- Running wholesale vehicles through auction platforms - vehicles that are determined to be wholesale units must be sold through an auction platform such as Openlane or Eblock and running such vehicles will be at the sole discretion of the Pre-Owned Manager.
- Stocking pre-owned inventory by purchasing vehicles from auctions, wholesalers, and private sellers.
- Allocating demos and loaner vehicles to other department and employees with the help of the General Sales Manager.
- Merchandising pre-owned inventory - establishing prices for pre-owned inventory, taking into account vehicle and market conditions, ensuring photos are captured and uploaded in a timely manner, generating descriptions for vehicles.
- Reviewing prices of pre-owned inventory weekly by taking into account on ground inventory, market information and condition of vehicles.
- Keeping a close eye on the age of inventory pieces to ensure no units “age out”, employing various tools and tactics such as discounts, spiffs, etc., to clear aged units.
- Ensuring information on internal dealer management software, inventory management system, and website is correct and up-to-date on a daily basis. This includes vehicle specifications, pricing, pictures, descriptions, and deal information if applicable.

- Ensure outstanding customer satisfaction is achieved in every customer interaction. All customers should be greeted when entering the dealership and said hello to, regardless of whether they are in for sales, service, parts, or body shop
