**Position**:
Nistawoyou Association Friendship Centre is looking for a part-time in-house Administrative Assistant

**Background**:
Nistawoyou Association Friendship Centre (NAFC) was incorporated on September 17, 1964, and accepted into the Native Friendship Centre Association in February 1972, and later incorporated as a not for profit society in 1974. Its base of operations is the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo, which includes the communities of Fort McMurray, Fort Chipewyan, Fort MacKay, Anzac, Janvier and Conklin. The NAFC is dedicated to the development of social and recreational activities of our community. Our mission is to promote and encourage better relationships between Indigenous and Non-Indigenous peoples in our community and act as a liaison between the people of Aboriginal background and government, voluntary agencies, industry and other groups.

**Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to**:

- Provides administrative support services to the ED, and NAFC staff
- Under the direction of the ED, responsible for the confidential review, monitoring, and analysis of the operating and capital budgets
- Work directly with staff to ensure budgets are on track, reviewed, and programming layouts
- Plan, organize and prepare for Membership Meetings, AGM, etc
- Assists with the preparation of reports for review by the ED
- Monitors monthly expenditure
- Prioritizes and manages own workflow to ensure quality and efficiency (i.e., meet deadlines; be flexible in adjusting to changing work priorities)
- Uses a variety of software packages (e.g., Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, SharePoint) to prepare correspondence such as letters, minutes, tables, reports and statistical charts, proposals
- Post-secondary education in business or administration
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role
- Strong writing and organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills; demonstrated ability to be self-directed, proactive, and discrete
- Ability to participate as a member of the team and contribute to a positive work environment
- Leadership experience and ability to operate with mínimal supervision
- Drivers Licence (required)
- Must be aware of Treaty 8 Territory and its Culture
- Ability to pass Criminal Record Check

**Position Profile**:

- This is a part-time position, working 42 hours bi-weekly. (Some evenings and weekends required)

**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months
Part-time hours: 21 per week

**Salary**: From $1.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Manning, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
