**What you will do**:
**Key Duties**:
Human Resources Administration
- Lead the hiring and onboarding processes for research project staff, working closely with the Resource Manager and Talent Acquisition Advisors
- Create employment contracts and manage the documentation process for new hires.
- Ensure all contracts are in line with grant requirements and institutional policies.
- Facilitate new employee onboarding processes, ensuring a smooth transition into ORI.
- Manage staff bi-weekly timesheet entriesf, including initiating submission reminders, verify entries for accuracy against employment terms, troubleshooting system issues.
- Monitor onboarding training of all research project staff
- Provide consultation and advice to Project Managers regarding HR matters in the grant funding proposals.
- Address financial and employment concerns and inquiries in a confidential and professional manner.
- Create and monitor grant related job postings for student research positions on the Humber Alumni/Student Career portal.

Job Description Development
- Develop and write detailed job descriptions for various employment positions within ORI and for research grants.
- Consult stakeholders to accurately determine scope of work, required qualifications, and performance expectations.
- Perform environmental scans of similar roles to determine industry standards of work, compensation, skills, and qualifications.
- Maintain accurate records of job description versions, revisions, and approvals for future reference and audit purposes.
- Regularly review and refine job description templates, ensuring they remain relevant, comprehensive, and adapt to changing needs.

Financial Tracking and Reporting
- Maintain accurate financial records and track expenditures related to employment in research projects and initiatives.
- Prepare monthly budget updates for Project Managers; analyzing transactions and updating financial commitments.
- Perform regular detailed budget audits, identifying and correcting any discrepancies.
- Monitor and utilize Banner to verify projected transactions, ensure all financial sheets are reconciled to Banner on a monthly basis.
- Under the direction of the Resource Manager, prepare journal voucher requests for salary transfers with payroll documentation, as needed
- Collaborate with finance teams to ensure compliance with financial policies and guidelines.
- Aid the Resource Manager and Associate Director, Operations in the forecasting and budgeting of internal operational salaries.
- Provide complex confidential ad hoc financial reports as required for the Associate Director, Operations and Dean, ORI.

Document and Data Management
- Develop and implement systems for collecting and analyzing data related to research projects and activities.
- Keep comprehensive and organized financial and HR records, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date, accurate, and readily accessible for audits and reporting purposes, as per Funder guidelines.
- Maintain and enforce strict protocols daily for handling and storing confidential information.
- Work with the Data Analytics team to implement data driven approaches to internal controls and tools.

Administrative Support
- Provide back-up support to the Administrative Assistant, as needed.
- Provide back-up support to the Resource Manager, as needed.

**Education**

Three (3) year diploma in Business Administration, Human Resources, Management, or related area.

**Experience & Skills**

Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in a research or grant-funded environment.
