Better Business Bureau serving Mainland BC (BBB) is looking for a marketing generalist for their Marketing Assistant role.

Working directly with the marketing and communications team, you will support the department in various capacities including project management, writing, graphic design, proofreading and other administrative tasks. This role requires a self-starter that takes initiative to accomplish all tasks with professionalism and efficiency.

You are sharp as a tack and a quick study. You’re a strong writer, clear communicator, organized and have an eagle eye for details. You are a positive individual who loves connecting with people, are driven by getting the job done, and have the ability to manage multiple priorities at the same time.

**Responsibilities & Expectations**:

- Represent the communications team at departmental meetings
- Inform BBB staff about ongoing external communications and activities
- Marketing team meeting meeting management (agendas, minutes and action plans)
- Handle general marketing and administration tasks for Marketing Director and marketing team overall
- Book meetings, send agendas, take minutes, add tasks to project management system
- Manage internal drive (proper naming conventions, file organization, archiving of old files)
- Coordinate schedules, calls and meetings
- Book external presentations
- Communicate with third party stakeholders
- Document processes into procedure documents
- Undertake other related duties, as required
- Create project plans for new products, launches, events, and promotions.
- Create and host consumer education presentations.
- Respond to online inquiries and reviews
- Collect content, write and support newsletter distribution to businesses, consumers and staff.
- Research content, and collect required content for marketing team deliverables
- Write copy in support of marketing specialist
- Proofread copy in support of marketing team
- Update mailchimp mailing lists monthly
- Create mailchimp campaigns
- Design basic marketing materials using Canva
- Handle basic website updates
- Support events as assigned
- Represent BBB at off-site events, attending tradeshows & seminars as required

**Ideal Experience and Skills**:

- 1+ years in marketing role, marketing support or intermediate administrative assistant role
- Exquisite written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated ability to multitask, strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Post-secondary learning in marketing, digital communications, public relations or related field is an asset
- Some travel may be required (reliable transportation to and from events)
- Some evening and weekends will be required

- Phenomenal people skills and ability to develop relationships.
- Manages internal and external conflict by effectively using appropriate interpersonal skills
- Adaptable, flexible and maintains effectiveness when experiencing major changes in work tasks
- Demonstrates strong attention to detail and accuracy through quality, concern, and accuracy
- Actively participates as a member of the team toward the completion of goals and a positive workplace
- Continuously develops by actively identifying new areas for learning
- Intuitively understand and proactively take care of the needs of the marketing department
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
