Procurement Specialist

Red Deer, Canada Q2 ALS Full time

This job is well-suited for a person with an excellent problem-solving capacity and who has demonstrated ability for considerable analysis to find solutions in a complex environment with shifting and competing priorities.

Some of the duties and responsibilities include:
**Responsibilities**:

- Procurement of materials, equipment, and supplies to support the manufacturing plant.
- Reduce costs and increase efficiencies within the purchasing department
- Prepare and/or review purchase requisitions/reorder reports as required
- Source price quotations and prepare purchase orders
- Expedite and follow up with suppliers to schedule deliveries, resolve material, value discrepancy, outstanding and overdue delivery of orders, warranty claims and damage, and return of materials
- Prepare and maintain purchasing files, reports and price lists.
- Work with Internal and external stakeholders to determine supply needs, quality, and delivery requirements
- Develop and maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships with suppliers
- Identify and develop new business opportunities for the Company
- Create quotations based on proper analysis of customer needs and requirements
- Follow up in a timely and strategic manner on all quotations
- Conduct vendor and supplier evaluations.

**Experience and Skills Required**:

- Grade 12 education
- Post-secondary business diploma or degree
- Minimum 10 years working in procurement
- Strong people management and organizational skills
- Strong management, communications and computer skills
- Experience with Information systems and asset management
- Proficient with MS Office, Windows, and ERP systems
