**Position Summary**:
The _Manager, People & Community _champions organizational development, employee recruitment and human resource management in advancing HomeEd’s reputation as a great place to work. Additionally this individual strengthens stakeholder relationships, communicating HomeEd’s value and growing its connections in the community.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:
Organizational Development
- Strategize and recommend people-driven initiatives that advance HomeEd’s mission, purpose, values and vision.
- Develop, recommend and implement employee policies, processes, procedures and systems to advance HomeEd’s strategic plan. Keep all employees informed of changes and new practices.
- Support governance processes and communications with the Board of Directors and Shareholders as required.

Workforce Planning & Recruitment
- Manage the full cycle of workforce planning including succession planning, recruitment, orientation, development and metric management related to HomeEd staff.
- Advise on staff roles and structure; review and update job descriptions.
- Recruit, screen and interview for job openings, ensuring the compatibility of applicants to job positions.
- Oversee orientation and onboarding within the organization.

Human Resource Management
- Enhance and administer HomeEd’s performance & development planning, management and review process; provide advice, coaching and assistance to managers and employees.
- Develop and administer employee training, recognition and incentive programs.
- Plan for and manage employee workspace and information system needs.
- Refine and manage compliance with data management and privacy policies and processes.
- Collaborate with the Finance department to administer payroll and benefits programs.
- Oversee and administer disability management processes working with LTD, WCB, medical leaves, return to work processes and accommodation.
- Review, support and/or provide resolutions to employee or manager concerns.
- Professionally manage employee offboarding as required.
- Remain current with industry best practices and legislative requirements.

Communications
- Develop and manage internal communication strategies and plans to enhance employee engagement and compliance with HomeEd’s brand, policies and initiatives.
- Develop and oversee external communication strategies and plans to establish and reinforce HomeEd’s brand, value proposition and key messages with target audiences.
- Oversee general inquiries through HomeEd’s communication mediums, ensuring response and/or connection with appropriate team members in a timely and professional manner.
