**Position Summary**

The EMR Specialist is responsible for providing training and support to front-line staff in participating member physician clinics. The EMR Specialist is an integral role in the implementation of the Patient’s Medical Home, focusing on panel management, team-based care, access, use of the EMR, and screening.

The EMR Specialist role requires frequent travel between MPCN central clinics and member physician clinics to support a tailored implementation approach to participating clinics. A thorough understanding of electronic health records as well as the day-to-day operation of physician clinic and primary health care is essential to this role.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Training/Evaluation_
- Design training modules and guidelines for member clinics related to the pillars of the PMH.
- Mentors and provides structured, organized training to front-line staff (Primary Care Coordinators) in participating Mosaic PCN member physician clinics on the Patient’s Medical Home Program.
- Provides expertise and training on the functionality of the various Electronic Medical Records used in Mosaic Primary Care Network and member physician clinics.
- Supports the creation and delivery of standardized reports at the clinic and program level.
- In coordination with the Practice Facilitator assess the education needs at the practice level and collaborate in the design and/or delivery of EMR training to support PMH milestones.
- Provides EMR training to physicians and teams.
- Participates in the design of quarterly team and physician education events

- Working in collaboration with the Practice Facilitator to support the design of PMH goals and milestones for member clinics. Supports the development of innovative approaches to leverage strengths in addressing challenges.

**Qualifications & Requirements**
- Medical Office Assistant Certificate/Diploma plus two years of experience in primary care and a minimum of two years working within a community clinic setting.
- Med-Access EMR experience required.
- Demonstrates expertise in at least one Electronic Medical Record, ideally Wolf, Accuro &/or Med Access preferred
- Demonstrates advanced understanding of primary healthcare in Alberta.
- Understands and applies Adult Learning Techniques.
- Applies quality improvement methodology.
- Demonstrates ability to efficiently and effectively learn new systems (e.g. Electronic Medical Records).
- Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, etc.).

- Works with a high level of autonomy, attention to detail, and professionalism.
- Possesses strong oral and written communication skills.
