Facilities & Recreation Operator

**Duration**: Permanent

**Rate of pay**: $25.56-$29.90 per hour - overtime paid

**Hours**: 40 hours per week, evenings and weekends may be required as needed

**Description of position**:Maintains and operates all equipment and facilities at location throughout the municipality; assumes responsibility for seasonal preparation of arena, pool, sports fields, parks and gardens; sets up facilities at rental halls; carries out renovations and assists with construction projects; proactive maintenance of equipment; regular safety inspections of facilities and equipment; interacts and assists the public at our various municipal buildings and properties.

**Qualifications, experience and education**:

- Standard First aid and CPR (C)
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
- Must be 18 years of age
- Post-secondary education in the recreation stream will be considered an asset
- Valid Ontario G driver’s license
- Strong communication and public relations skills
- Highly organized
- Exemplifies professionalism at all times
- Completion of an ORFA Basic Arena Refrigeration course - would be considered an asset
- Completion of an ORFA Ice Making & Painting Technologies course - would be considered an asset
- Completion of ORFA Ice Maintenance & Equipment Operations -would be considered an asset
- Completion of an ORFA Certified Pool/Spa Operator (CPO) course would be considered an asset
- Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations, procedures and guidelines
