- Reporting to the Lift Operations Supervisor, Lift Operators assist in providing outstanding experiences for our guests on the hill. Lift Operators are responsible for safely loading and unloading guests from the lifts, checking tickets as well as answering guest queries. This team has a key role in exceeding guest service expectations, by creating a friendly and positive atmosphere. This position requires physical labour including pulling T-Bars, lifting and shoveling snow.**Key Duties and Responsibilities**
- Assists guests with loading and unloading on a t-bar or handletow.
- Monitor and ensure the safe operation of the lift.
- Continually watch and scan t-bar liftline for guest safety or potential falls and stoppage requirements.
- Set up and take down/maintenance of lift line equipment such as ramps, mazes and signs
- Perform pre
- and post-operation checks
- Responsible for checking for valid lift tickets and season passes
- Following safe lift operating procedures
- Following Lock Out, Tag Out procedures as directed
- Assist with organizing guests efficiently onto the lift
- Answer guest inquiries
- Shovel lift loading, unloading, counterweight and decks as needed
- Ability to ski or snowboard, efficiently and safely, between work locations on intermediate (blue square) terrain
- Other duties as assigned

**Knowledge, Abilities and Skills**
- Knowledge of ski area operations
- Mechanical aptitude and understanding of basic operations and maintenance of equipment.
- Basic understanding of mountain resort maintenance and ski / snowboarding terrain needs.
- Self-motivated, able to work independently
- Requires physical aptitude to safety negotiate outdoor winter travel on snow and ice

**Required Education and Experience**

Must be 15 years of age by date of hire.

The following qualifications would be an asset:

- Previous experience with ski area operations is an asset
- Experience dealing with the public is an asset
- Current First Aid Certification including CPR and AED

**Working Conditions**

Work is performed primarily outdoors in all weather conditions, including cold, wind, snow and rain. The work can be moderately strenuous and regularly requires the incumbent to pull t’s, carry and move supplies, set up equipment, ski/snowboard, bend and kneel.
