TerraWest provides clients with hazardous materials and designated substances surveys, worker exposure assessments, and specialized indoor environmental quality services, such as indoor air quality investigations, and water damage/ mould assessment services.

We are currently searching for an Intermediate Hazardous Materials Professional for our Langford or Nanaimo office. This position is supported by our Hazmat Program Manager.

**Responsibilities**:

- Perform hazardous materials assessments on all types of buildings and structures
- Schedule inspections with clients and contractors
- Communicate with client managers and supervisory personnel for all aspects of work
- Conduct on-site inspections during demolition or removal of hazardous materials
- Perform hazardous materials, indoor air quality, water loss, and mould assessments
- Assess worker exposure to selected contaminants
- Interpret analytical results
- Lead and mentor junior team members
- Willingness and ability to travel

**Qualifications**
- 5 years of consulting experience related to the position
- A Bachelor of Science or Applied Science degree or diploma.
- A designation in Construction Technology, Architectural Technology, Civil Engineering, AHERA, Canadian Registered Safety Professional or Registered Occupational Hygienist or related would be an asset
- Good report writing, reviewing, and editing skills using Microsoft Office products
- Applicants must have a clean class 5 driver’s license and a reliable car, truck or SUV that can be insured for company use.

Ability to:

- read and understand technical specifications, drawings, and reports
- work outside of core business hours if the need arises
- climb ladders and carry up to 40 pounds (not at the same time)
- wear a respirator and other PPE as required for work
