**About The Role**

Repor-ng to the Health Manager, The Mental Health and Wellness Clinician works as a member
of the overall health team and plays a lead role in the establishment of a community-based
mental health program - one that includes addressing cri-cal gaps in the mental health services
and programs. In coordina-on with other service providers and professionals, provides a range
of mental health services including: assessment, counselling programs, referrals for treatment
and follow-up treatment, a[er care and rehabilita-on to clients, consulta-on/liaison with other
Health/social services agencies and the community; provision of community educa-on and
awareness raising of nature mental health; and program development and evalua-on. The
posi-on also is intended to provide support for interven-on in crisis situa-ons in order to
reduce the number of suicide a^empts and other violent crisis situa-ons - with a strong youth
focus.

**Qualifica:ons**
- Licensed to prac-ce nursing in the province of BC under the RNABC and/or College of

Registered Psychiatric Nursing of BC (and qualified to provide nursing in Psychiatry and Mental
Health), or Post-graduate (Master’s level) in one of the following disciplines: MSW (Clinical
specializa-on or equivalent training), M.Ed (Counselling), MA (Clinical Psycholofy), Master’s
Degree in Child and Youth Care or comparable graduate degree at Master’s level.
- Experience working or linking with First Na-on Communi-es.
