**Job Title**:Brighter Futures Program Worker
**Salary**: $43,855.06 - $53,252.58 - $62,650.09

**Contract**: Full-me, Permanent
**Hours**: 4-day work week, Mon - Thurs (36 hrs)
**Loca/on**: Ladysmith, BC

**About The Role**
Repor-ng to the Community Manager, Brighter Futures Worker is the incumbent for the
Brighter Futures Program, a community-based health promo-on and ill-health preven-on
program that promotes health and prevents ill-health through learning-related ac-vi-es that
strive to increase awareness, change aatudes, build knowledge and enhance skills. The
mandate of Brighter Futures Program is to improve the physical, mental and social well-being of
First Na-on children and families by improving the quality of, and access to culturally sensi-ve
wellness services at the community level to help create healthy family and community
environments in which children and all community members can thrive. Services that are
provided include community mental health, child development, injury preven-on, solvent
abuse, paren-ng skills, healthy babies, health promo-ons, program coordina-on, cultural
awareness and advocacy and referral.

**Qualifica/ons**
- Related 2-year diploma or degree
- Must be living a lifestyle free of addic-ons for a minimum of three years
- Must have a personal selfcare or holis-c wellness plan
- Must undergo a sa-sfactory reference check and a criminal records review and police record
- check.
- Must possess a valid BC Driver's License and may be required to use own vehicle (with

appropriate insurance) for work purposes.
- Experience working or linking with First Na-ons communi-es or other Aboriginal

communi-es.
- Have knowledge of and willingness to ac-vely support tradi-onal healing prac-ces
- Fluency or comprehension of the Hulqui'minum language would be an asset
- Excellent verbal and wrifen communica-on skills
- Demonstrated ability to work well with others in the community and accept supervision
- Must have demonstrated ability to work with others
- Excellent computer skills such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook

**Total Compensa/on**
As a member of the team, you will have access to a wide range of employee benefits, including:

The Salary Range is the minimum and maximum annual salary based on full -me equivalent
hours.
Incumbents are typically hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of
the range based on their knowledge, skills, abili-es and experience in rela-on to the role
requirements.

The top 10% of the pay range is for the incumbents who are industry experts in the job with the
combina-on of excep-onal experience and competencies needed to perform all du-es and
responsibili-es at a superior capability level.
