We are hiring an Food Safety and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Coordinator who will work on Food Safety in our Global Vintners (GVI) facility in St. Catherine's. This person will be responsible for maintaining the food safety and EHS systems to ensure compliance to the certified standard, company policies, regulatory and customer requirements.

Details of the role
- The Food Safety Coordinator works with the Quality Assurance Manager to ensure the GVI food safety program meets the requirements of the BRC Global Standard for Food Safety, Safe Food for Canadians Regulations and the regulatory requirements of our Global export markets.
- Provides leadership and expertise to departments to ensure proper incorporation of the requirements into procedures and processes.
- Manages document control and the training programs for both HACCP and EHS
- Leads the facility GMP and HS inspection programs
- Coordinates GVI Internal Audit team according to internal audit schedule. Responsible for the Summary Report and issuing Corrective actions.
- Responsible for tracking of Corrective and Preventive actions from all sources, and the measurement and reporting of implementation and effectiveness. Supports the team’s delivery of timely and effective corrective actions.
- Member of the validation team and HACCP team leader, completing food safety risk assessments and validation and reassessment of the HACCP plans.
- Conducts verification activities as required by the program.
- Is accountable for entering and monitoring status of safety data in software and maintaining training records, generating applicable reports for operations.
- Support the Joint Health and Safety Committee through minute taking and maintaining calendar.
Does this sound like you?
- University degree or college diploma in food science, microbiology, or related discipline
- Strong problem solving, decision making and communication skills
- 1-3 years of experience as Food Safety Coordinator
- Experience implementing a food safety program an asset
- Completed HACCP training within last 5 years
- Completed training for a GFSI standard (preferably BRCGS) within last 5 years
- PCQI training an asset
- EHS Auditing experience /EHS Systems experience and/or leadership an asset
