This position contains two components - management of the Youth & Young Adult Services team, and oversight of the Edmonton Coordinated Youth Response Initiative (YAC).

**Management of Youth Services**: The position will supervise a team of passionate youth serving staff from several program areas. The team works with both children’s services (CS) involved youth, as well as youth who do not have CS involvement. Youth & young adults served are between the ages of 15-30 years old. They are often homeless, have suffered trauma, and are living with addictions and mental health issues.

**Edmonton Coordinated Youth Response Initiative**: The initiative began in response to youth homelessness during Covid-19 and continues to support effective diversions and relational referrals across the city. The project envisions a unified response to youth services in Edmonton during Covid 19 and beyond, leveraging intense collaboration, and technological innovation. Together, various locations in Edmonton will work to wrap services around youth experiencing homelessness in Edmonton. For this position, a high degree of collaboration is needed with agencies and services across the city. BSCS is one of the coordinated sites in the initiative; therefore, the Manager of Youth Services will oversee the team as they take the lead in ensuring the success of the initiative.

The position will be based out of Boyle Street Community Services (Bissell East & EPCOR) Edmonton, and will include some outreach collaboration at several other agencies.

**JOB PURPOSE**:
The Manager of Youth & Young Adult Services is primarily responsible for the general management of program staff, as well as the development and implementation of the Edmonton Coordinated Youth Response Initiative for BSCS. The Manager ensures the day-today implementation of desired outcomes of three youth contracts and the CYR initiative, prioritizing excellence in relationships, excellence in data collection whilst offering support and supervision to youth staff in their daily case management.- “We stand with our clients, side by side, patiently and for as long as they want - a constant and consistent caring force”**Operational Management**Manage program operational cycle and service delivery to achieve program goals and outcomes.
-Works in collaboration with Human Resources to recruit and onboard new program personnel.
-Ensure implementation of leading practices and safety protocols.
-Assess and develop infrastructure, framework and key processes that will ensure that practices and responsibilities are outlined and followed.
-Engage with community resources to establish partnerships with a view to improve services to community members
-Develop, implement, and evaluate program policies and procedures
-Ensure accreditation standards are met and implement changes as necessary

**Staff Supervision**Support program workers, coordinators, and supervisors in their role by observing performance, recognizing successes, providing constructive feedback and maintaining appropriate documentation.
-Arrange and support direct reports through bi-weekly to monthly supervision sessions.
-Debrief and follow-up critical incidents and/or crisis situations in conjunction with Program Supervisors, as required, to provide support, ensure proper protocol was followed and minimize future incidents.

**Administration**Maintain accurate and current financial records, which adhere to agency financial practices.
-Manage budgets, multiple funder requirements and reporting deadlines.
Ensure that all information regarding service delivery is developed and reported in a timely manner.
-Prepare required reports and annual budget projections for effective and efficient program planning
-Proof-read and evaluate all Critical Incident Reports
-Acts as delegated spokesperson on issues related to the Program for education and advocacy purposes.
-BSCS is more than a workplace. It is a community where everyone helps and contributes to the whole, and there is an expectation that all employees will take part in events (during the work week and occasionally during weekends and evenings). This includes fundraising campaigns, running community meals, medicine picking etc.

- ** Education**:

- A post-secondary Degree or Diploma in Social Work or a related discipline, lived experience or experience managing a team of youth serving staff, and strong demonstration of professional collaborative experience.
Minimum 3 years in a leadership/management role and at least 2 years delivering community services
