**HEALTH & SAFETY COORDINATOR**

Working with guidance from the Facility Manager and Director of Human Resources the Health & Safety Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating occupational health and safety programs for the operation(s) to ensure the safety and wellbeing of staff and workgroups at the Cambridge, Ontario & Dartmouth, Nova Scotia locations. The program includes, but is not limited to, safety policies and procedures, training and education, worker’s compensation, return to work coordination, disability management, dangerous goods, environmental protection, safe driving, and vehicle safety.

This role requires:

- Minimum of five years of H&S management experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Post-secondary education (degree, diploma or certificate) in Occupational Health & Safety required; Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of applicable legislation; preferably amongst multiple provinces.
- Proficiency in the use of personal computers, including Microsoft Office and the internet.
- Combination of education and experience may be considered._
- Ability to initiate, develop and maintain positive and productive working relationships throughout all levels of the organization.
- Ability to identify learning requirements, employee challenges, and/or concerns, and provide creative, effective solutions.
- Ability to continuously improve practices, processes and systems.
- Ability to compile technical data and prepare technical and analytical reports.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work.
- Travel to other regions covered under the scope of position 15%.
- Some overtime and flexibility in work schedule is required as business demands.
