Role Overview

The Health & Safety Coordinator is responsible for the implementation and execution of all H&S related programs and initiatives for their assigned facilities. They will provide expertise and support to maintain the Eclipse H&S program and ensure compliance with legislated requirements, internal standards, and collaborate on delivery of new policies and programs. The H&S Coordinator will have responsibilities in scope of all Eclipse H&S functions including training, inspections/auditing, program development and implementation, to deliver our Eclipse Vision and Entrepreneurial Culture.
The Health & Safety Coordinator job responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

- Support the implementation and maintenance of Eclipse’ H&S programs and communications
- Act as a health and safety advisor to employees, supervisors, projects, and department management teams
- Follow up with and assist Supervisors, Managers and other relevant parties regarding corrective action requests and continuous improvement activities
- Conduct and support the completion of H&S risk assessments to identify key H&S risks and appropriate corrective actions
- Support the Job Hazard Analysis process for project and department risk assessments and controls
- Conduct safety inspections and audits to verify compliance and escalate issues as required
- Perform in-house ergonomic assessments and other H&S assessments as required
- Coordinate incident reporting and investigation process. Review submitted reports to ensure effective root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions
- Maintain current knowledge of local H&S legislation and other applicable standards
- Support Workplace Accommodation and Return to Work planning for injured workers
- Deliver Health and Safety Orientation to new employees and contractors
- Coordinate internal and external Health and Safety training courses and maintain ongoing compliance with the training certification matrix
- Administer contractor management program
- Maintain online client compliance profiles and respond to customer H&S documentation requests
- Track and update health and safety metrics and disseminate reports to management teams and other relevant parties to drive corrective and continuous improvement actions
- Procure health and safety supplies and services as required
- Serve as account administrator for H&S software systems
- Assist the Health & Safety Manager in reviewing and preparing departmental budget
- Promote a proactive Safety Culture and positive relations between departments and with external stakeholders
- Maintain and administer H&S Management System policies and procedures to maintain performance and support continuous improvement
- Ability to work in a team environment and actively participate in group meetings safely
- Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule including weekends and or travel as required in varying timelines
- Expectation of travel to other locations is less than 10% of time (may be exceeded in exceptional circumstances to meet project needs)

**Qualifications**:

- Has successfully completed a University degree and/or a College diploma/certificate in Occupational Health and Safety, or related fields
- 1-3 years’ experience in a Health and Safety role in a manufacturing setting
- Experienced in conducting hazard assessments and incident investigations
- Experience coordinating and delivering H&S training programs
- Intermediate knowledge of applicable health and safety regulations and standards in the local jurisdiction
