Accounts Payable Accounting Analyst

**JOB PURPOSE**
Reporting to the Controller, the Accounting Analyst - A/P will prepare the month-end and year-end working papers, conduct GL reconciliation analysis, conduct profitability analysis, and prepare marginal reports. The incumbent will also handle day-to-day accounts payable activities within the department, processing and monitoring payments in an effective and efficient manner. This role is great for someone that is looking to deepen and expand their skills.
**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
**Accounts Payable**:
- Ensuring accurate and timely inputting of A/P data
- Ensuring all vendor account balances are accurate, and payments are allocated in a timely manner
- Organizing cheque runs and arranging Visa payments
- Working with the Buying & Sale departments to resolve P.O. claims & price discrepancies
- Assist with the month end process and assist with the preparation of financial statements
- Accounts Receivable (in a backup capacity)
**Accounting Analyst**:
- Extract raw data from ERP and import to various database and spreadsheets for analysis
- Develop and analyse ad-hoc reports as required
- Assist with the month end process and assist with the preparation of financial statements
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and analysis of variances
- HST Return
- Bank Reconciliations
- Other accounting duties as assigned
**QUALIFICATIONS**
**Education, qualifications, special training & experience required**:
- University Degree or College Diploma in Accounting, Finance or related field of study
- Minimum 1-2 years’ experience with accounts payable and payment processing
**Personality & aptitudes**:
- Efficient while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and attention to details
- Exercise exemplary discretion and judgement related to confidential information and conducting him/herself ethically and professionally
- Possess positive and constructive work attitude
- Able to prioritize and handle multiple deadlines in a dynamic environment
**Language & communication skills**:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills

**Other knowledge & skills**:
- Computer proficiency with advanced experience with Microsoft Excel and Office
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work under pressure
