The Mark Preece Family house is a caring place to call home for families of patients in Hamilton area hospitals. When there is an accident or illness and a loved one is in the hospital, it is a crisis for the whole family — especially if home and friends are far away.

**The Communications & Development Specialist is a new position focused on creating awareness of the house with donors, the medical community at large, and in the Hamilton and surrounding communities.**

We are looking for a Communications and Development Specialist to:

- Build brand loyalty through engagement with staff, volunteers, community stakeholders
- Create awareness of the house and its impact on families lives during a health crisis with donors, within the medical community at large, and in the Hamilton and surrounding community to serve more families
- Raise funding through grants
- Develop, implement, and administer the policies and goals established by the Board of Directors while upholding the mission and vision of the Mark Preece Family House (MPFH).

Responsibilities include:

- Leads brand awareness as the ambassador for the house ensuring all stakeholders are engaged
- Lead the development of a marketing communication plan including social media, website, and various channels
- Collaborate with Co-Director and Board to identify corporations, associations, medical providers, foundations, and corporate sponsors to focus on to drive engagement
- Create marketing strategies and materials for different stakeholders to attract the influencers in the market we are targeting
- Develop and implements a marketing and communication strategy to engage new potential supporters to increase awareness and donations
- Create and update marketing materials, web content and documents to support fundraising, donor stewardship, and programs
- Write compelling copy for different collateral types and audiences
- Establish sound working relationships and cooperative arrangements with community groups and organizations
- Serve as a goodwill ambassador for the house by attending appropriate community events.
- Publicize the activities of the House, its programs, and goals.
- Lead online fundraising campaigns and strategies using multiple mediums to ensure reaching the full donor base
- Liaise with appropriate hospital staff on availability and purpose of MPFH
- Produce the organization’s annual report
- Develop an annual communication strategy with monthly and quarterly updates
- Develop and evolve market segmentation to reach identified key stakeholders and grow donor base
- Oversee day to day marketing, campaigns, social media, content creation and website management
- Networking and developing relationships with companies to drive corporate giving

Qualifications:

- Post graduate diploma
- 2 to 3 years of related experience
- Social media and marketing software skills
- Advanced Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Skills
- Post-secondary diploma or degree
- Criminal Reference Check
- Proof of COVID Vaccination
